The Nevada Wolf Pack take on the New Mexico Lobos this week in a game that will feature the MWC’s third-leading rusher, Lamar Jordan (404 yards, 3 TDs). Recent weeks haven’t given Nevada (2-3) much hope, as it has been on the losing end of three of its last four. The game kicks off Saturday, Oct 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET and will be shown on CI.
In last week’s matchup, Nevada lost to UNLV 23-17. Jerico Richardson had a huge game in the loss, grabbing eight receptions for 87 yards and one TD. Tyler Stewart also had a great game with 202 yards and a TD through the air. New Mexico is hoping for another victory like last week’s performance, when it defeated New Mexico State 38-29. Teriyon Gipson had a great game running the ball for the Lobos, rushing 19 times for 142 yards and one TD. Jhurell Pressley had a great game as well, adding 99 rushing yards and a TD on 18 carries.
The Lobos are a six-point underdog against the Wolf Pack and the Over/Under (O/U) for the matchup is unavailable currently.
With a 2-3 record for both Straight Up (SU) and Against The Spread (ATS), the Wolf Pack will look to improve as they head into Week 6.
Over on the other sideline, the Lobos head into Week 6 with records of 3-2 for both ATS and SU. Chances are New Mexico will continue to rely on its run game, where its 294.2 rushing yards per game ranks ninth in the nation. Moving on to the New Mexico defense, it has some favorable matchups that it may be able to take advantage of as well. The Lobos have been embarrassing their opponent’s offensive lines this year. New Mexico’s defense ranks fifth in the country with an average of 3.8 sacks per game. Teams need to stay focused in the first quarter against the fast-starting Lobos, who average 12.6 points in the first 15 minutes.
