In this Week 17 regular season finale, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets do battle at Sun Life Stadium. Players will take the field Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET and the game will air on CBS.
The last meeting between the Dolphins and Jets came in Week 13 when New York suffered a narrow defeat against Miami 16-13. Johnson had a great performance running the ball for New York, rushing for 105 yards on 17 carries.
The Dolphins, a four-point favorite, will be looking to hold down their home field when New York comes to town. The Over/Under (O/U) for the matchup is set at 42 points. Heading into Week 17 of league action, the Dolphins are 8-7 Straight Up (SU) and 7-8 Against The Spread (ATS). Over their last five games, the Dolphins have records of 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS. A big source of success this season is the passing game, where the Dolphins complete 66.7% of their passes. As for the Miami defense, a few key matchups could decide this game. On the special teams side, New York may give up some big plays to the Dolphins in the return game. The Jets have allowed 101.2 return yards per game, making them one of the worst in the NFL.
Over on the other sideline, the Jets head into Week 17 with records of 5-9-1 ATS and 3-12 SU. The Jets went 1-4 SU and 3-2 ATS over the last five games. New York has found a lot of success on the ground. Its 145 rushing yards per game ranks second in the NFL. Over the last five games, the Jets turned it up on the defensive side of the football, only allowing an average of 95.6 rushing yards per game. For the Dolphins, special teams is an area in need of improvement. Their 110.1 return yards allowed per game rank amongst the worst in the league.
