The San Diego Padres are playing host to the New York Mets at PETCO Park. This NL matchup will get going at 10:10 p.m. ET and SportsNet New York is in line to broadcast the game.

New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres Odds

Vegas has listed San Diego (+140) as the underdog to New York (-150). Bettors can wager on the game’s total with odds sitting at -115 for over 7.5 runs and -105 for under 7.5. Runline odds stand at -105 for betting the Mets -1.5 runs and -115 for the Padres +1.5 runs.

The Padres are only 9-17 SU and 10-16 ATS. They’ve lost 4.9 units for moneyline bettors and 10.6 units against the spread (ATS). San Diego has covered the spread only twice in its last seven games and the under has hit in four of those seven. The Mets, on the other hand, are 15-8 SU and have gone 13-9 ATS.

San Diego’s pitching staff has allowed 4.9 runs per game this season. Its starters have a 5.40 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 8.1 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a solid ERA of just 2.62, a WHIP of 1.05 and a K/9 of 10.2.

The San Diego hitters have produced 3.8 runs per contest, including 4.3 per game over its last 10 games. The team has hit .218/.279/.315 over its last five games and is 1-4 SU during that span.

The Padres’ hitters have been led by Christian Villanueva and Eric Hosmer. Villanueva is slashing .355/.444/.774 with seven home runs, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored, while Hosmer is batting .259 with 22 hits, four RBIs and 12 runs scored.

Hosmer appeared to enjoy facing right-handed pitchers at home last year, slashing .354/.439/.615 over 221 such plate appearances (compared to his overall season line of .318/.385/.498).

The Mets have gained 3.5 units and are 4-1 ATS when facing a left-handed starting pitcher this season. The over has hit in two of those games, compared to three that’ve hit the under in such games. On the other hand, the Padres have lost 3.3 units and are 7-9 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher. The over has hit in six of those games, compared to eight that’ve gone under.
