NFL Analysis: Chiefs and Broncos renew rivalry Sunday in Denver on CBS!

NFL Analysis:  The Kansas City Chiefs went from their worst season in their history in 2012 to a playoff team last year although they were running on fumes at the end of the 2013 season, especially on defense, where they were injury ravaged and running out of bodies.  Those defensive problems have carried over to 2014 as the Chiefs have an injury list that looks like something from a military hospital during a war.  Meanwhile its regular season time in Denver which means Peyton Manning is right on target.

The Denver Broncos will host the Kansas City Chiefs at Sports Authority Field in Denver on Sunday with coverage on CBS starting at 4:25 PM ET.  BetDSI has Denver as a 12.5-point favorite and with a total of 51.5.

KC Season Ends on Opening day

The Chiefs are coming off a 26-10 home loss to Tennessee as three point favorites in an alarming performance of offensive ineptitude and defensive injuries.  Linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive end Mike DeVito both tore the Achilles in their right legs last week and are out for the season.  Johnson in particular is irreplaceable.

Broncos Go Bust on Backdoor Overlay

The Broncos are coming off a 31-24 home win over Indianapolis as eight point favorites as they let the Colts in the backdoor after having leads of 24-0 in the second quarter and 31-10 with 9:54 to play.  Manning was 22 of 36 for 269 yards and three TDs.

Matchup and Pick

The Chiefs have been a strong board value on the road as of late with seven payouts in their last nine away games as five out of their last seven road games have gone over the total.  The Chiefs have covered just two out of their last eight games as a dog however with just three out of their last 12 games as a dog going over the total.  Denver has covered eight out of their last 12 games as a favorite with seven out of their last 11 games as a chalk going under the total.  Denver has covered six out of their last eight games with Kansas City as just one out of the last seven meetings between the Broncos and Chiefs have gone over the total.  We like Denver (-12.5) and under the total of 51.5.
