NFL Betting: The hype machine of the Dallas Cowboys never rests although its far from the stark reality considering “America’s Team” might just be the worst team in the NFC as owner Jerry Jones continues his real life fantasy football pursuits as a failed general manager. The San Francisco 49ers are also getting hype put for much more credible reasons as a team that has made the NFC Championship game in each of the past three seasons with a near miss in the 2013 Super Bowl.
The Dallas Cowboys will host the San Francisco 49ers at AT&T Stadium on Sunday afternoon with coverage on FOX starting at 4:25 PM ET. BetDSI opened with San Francisco as a six point road chalk with a total of 50.
Jerry’s Crumbling World
Jerry Jones has finally admitted the obvious that his Dallas Cowboys are in trouble and while we can say he is the master of the obvious it is also true and admission is the first step to recover. But recovery is unlikely this year and what will be most interesting is if the betting public finally tires of burning its bankrolls on Dallas. Jones has also not gotten the job done at acquiring talent. He recently graded himself as a C+ general manager, but even that sounds generous.
49ers Look to Strike Gold
The 49ers play football the right way with an emphasis on ball control rushing and defense but also with a modern twist of QB Colin Kaepernick, one of the most versatile signal callers in the game. NFC West Division rival Seattle is all that stands between the 49ers and Super Bowl gold.
Matchup and Pick
The Cowboys have been a poor value long term at home with just six payouts in their last 19 games at Cowboys Stadium with 12 out of their last 20 home games going over the total. The Cowboys have been a strong dog however with eight out of their last 11 games as a dog being covered against the spread with four out of their last five games as a dog going over the total. The 49ers have been as good as gold on the NFL betting board in road games with just five losses against the spread in their last 20 away games with eight out of their last 13 away games going over the total. Dallas has covered just three out of their last 11 games against the 49ers with eight out of the last 10 meetings between Dallas and Frisco going over the total. We normally don’t like to lay six points on the road in NFL games but will here. San Francisco is the call.
