Andrew Luck isn’t getting a “veteran’s day,” he’s practically getting a “veteran’s week.” The Pro Bowl quarterback is being held out of the next three Indianapolis Colts practices as the team continues to monitor his shoulder.
The Colts open their preseason Thursday night against the Buffalo Bills and you can rest assured that Luck will see no action at all in that game. If I ran the Colts, I wouldn’t even let him stand on the sideline. Too much of a chance he could get run into by a mascot or rogue camera operator. No reason to take the chance.
Per Coach Reich, Andrew Luck will sit out the next three days of practice. #ColtsCamp

Indianapolis has made it clear this is all precautionary and if it was the regular season, Luck would be a go. It makes no sense at all for the Colts to take Luck out of the bubble wrap this preseason.
In other Colts news, the team added tight end Zach Conque on Saturday and cut tight end Billy Brown.
Running back Spencer Ware, who was put on the physically unable to perform list Friday, has scheduled surgery on his injured ankle and should be out five-to-six weeks.
Brian Flores likes what he’s seeing in Josh Rosen
While he’s still No. 2 on the depth chart behind free agent acquisition Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Miami Dolphins have to feel good in what they have in Josh Rosen, the quarterback they acquired in a steal of a trade from the Arizona Cardinals on Day Two of April’s NFL Draft.
Head coach Brian Flores told reporters his young quarterback is making real progress.
“I think he’s made some improvement, really across the board,” Flores said. “There’s things that a lot of people don’t see. Better footwork, mechanics in the pocket, decision-making. A lot of times people, all they see is the touchdown pass; they don’t see the checkdown that’s a positive play for the team. I think he’s improved in those areas and I think those are the little things that go a long way at that position.”
“He’s very talented. Has a big arm. Is smart. Communicates well. But again, it’s hard to not mention consistency in this environment,” Brian Flores said about Josh Rosen. Says it’s still an open competition.

Rosen started 13 games for the Cardinals last season, going 3-10. He completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
