NFL News: Buccaneers Players Help Out Former Teammate Gerald McCoy With Son’s Senior Night

Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was unable to show up for his son’s senior night on Friday, so some of his former Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates were there in his place.

McCoy, who spent nine years in Tampa Bay before being released and signing with the Panthers in June, had to travel for Carolina’s road game against the San Francisco 49ers. His son plays receiver at Tampa Catholic High School, and Bucs players Donovan Smith, Jameis Winston, Mike Evans, and Lavonte David attended the game in support of their former teammate.

It was a heart-warming gesture that showed the power of camaraderie in sports. To top it off, Tampa Catholic won their game 28-8.
