For the Miami Dolphins, the 2019 fire sale of talent continues. News broke Friday afternoon that the team has told 2018 No. 11 overall pick Minkah Fitzpatrick that he is free to seek a trade.
The safety has been unhappy with how Miami is using him on defense and, apparently, so are the Dolphins. In just his second year, Fitzpatrick still has two seasons left on his rookie contract and a fifth-year option, all very economical for a team that might use him more to his talents.

Also, maybe a team not looking to go 0-16 this year.
Fitzpatrick started 11 games last season and played in all 16, recording 80 tackles, two for a loss, nine passes defended, two interceptions and one returned for a touchdown. It was the beginning of a promising career, but the Dolphins have still propped him up in the front yard and taped a paper “for sale” sign on his forehead.
Minkah Fitzpatrick's slot coverage grades, both in college and the NFL, are some of the highest @PFF has ever seen.
Don't play him at safety; play him at slot corner, a position growing in value in today's NFL.
Oh, and trade for him. He's #good.

Fitzpatrick is trying to stay focused on Miami’s game against the New England Patriots Sunday, one in which they are currently 18.5 point underdogs.
“It’s a little frustration, but I have to shift my focus to what’s important,” Fitzpatrick told the South Florida Sentinel. “I can’t focus on the trade talks and everything else like that. I have to focus on the Patriots, my teammates, my coaches and this week’s game plan.”
Injuries
Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White is day-to-day after spraining his MCL in the team’s victory over the Carolina Panthers Thursday night.
The Washington Redskins will be without tight end Jordan Reed in their game against the Dallas Cowboys as he’s not been released from the concussion protocol. The Redskins placed running back Derrius Guice on injured reserve after surgery on a torn meniscus.
Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley is expected to suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a neck injury against the Denver Broncos Monday night. Safety Johnathan Abram was placed on injured reserve.
