Eric Reid knelt right alongside Colin Kaepernick, but unlike the quarterback, he still has a job. Reid is currently with the Carolina Panthers and Thursday let it be known that he wasn’t pleased with Jay-Z’s comments when criticized for joining with the NFL on the Inspire Change.
Specifically, how can Jay-Z “inspire change” in a league that still seems adamant on keeping Kaepernick out of it.
“For me it’s like action, (an) actionable item, what are we gonna do with it?” Jay-Z said. “Everyone heard, we hear what you’re saying, and everybody knows I agree with what you’re saying. So what are we gonna do? You know what I’m saying? (Help) millions and millions of people, or we get stuck on Colin not having a job.”
Reid took issue with that.
These aren’t mutually exclusive. They can both happen at the same time! It looks like your goal was to make millions and millions of dollars by assisting the NFL in burying Colin’s career. https://t.co/LFBZpbj2tw

Kaepernick noted his friend’s support.
You never turned your back on me or the people, even when the nfl tried to silence your voice & the movement. You’ve never flinched or wavered. I love you Brother! Let’s get it! @E_Reid35
And to the people – I see you, I hear you and I love you! Thank you for having my back!!!✊🏾 pic.twitter.com/kBJ1SCBYIq

Landry Jones first QB to sign with the XFL
Landry Jones isn’t finished with this whole professional football thing just yet. After getting cut by the Oakland Raiders back in March, the former Oklahoma quarterback has been out of work. Thursday, Jones signed with the XFL, the first quarterback to do so.

Jones isn’t on a team just yet. This fall, the eight XFL teams will hold their opening draft. Jones appeared in 19 games while in the NFL, mostly with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He;s 3-2 as a starter with a career completion percentage of 63.9, 1,310 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. He spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tightness in back causes Rodgers to sit
The plan for the Green Bay Packers was for quarterback Aaron Rodgers to get some reps Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Before the opening whistle, that plan changed. Rodgers complained of tightness in his back and the team was taking no chances.
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers’ debut in Matt LaFleur’s offense will have to wait: He’s being held out tonight because of back tightness — as a precaution.

Rodgers didn’t play in the team’s preseason opener, but hasn’t missed a practice. The team said the move was “precautionary.”
