They might end up limited as training camp opens, but the Denver Broncos got good news as wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, running back Philip Lindsey and tight end Jake Butt will all be able to participate in training camp.
Sanders injured his Achilles last season. He had 12 starts for the Broncos, catching 71 passes for 868 yards and four touchdowns. Sanders is on pace to be ready for the regular season, but the brakes haven’t been pulled just yet. He’ll have to take it easy for a while.
The #Broncos didn’t place a single player on PUP today as both vets and rookies reported. Vic Fangio told me also to expect Emmanuel Sanders, Jake Butt and Phillip Lindsay to be full go in practice quicker than most would expect.

Lindsey went under the knife back in December with a wrist injury, missing the final game of the season. He’ll be eased into practice, according to reports, but head coach Vic Fangio says Lindsey is “ready to go.”
Vic Fangio said Phillip Lindsay (wrist surgery) “is ready to go”. They will ease him, Emmanuel Sanders and Jake Butt into practice, but added it will happen rather quickly.

Lindsey was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent out Colorado in 2018. He made eight starts for the Broncos in his first year, rushing for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. He added 35 catches for 241 yards and a TD through the air. Lindsey was named to the Pro Bowl last season.
Butt, while avoiding the physically unable to perform list, won’t be as quickly tossed into the fire as Sanders and Lindsey. He’s recovering from an ACL injury that knocked him out of 2018 after three games. He caught eight passes for 85 yards in those three appearances. Butt was a fifth round pick out of Michigan in the 2017 draft, but never played a down that season after tearing his ACL the first time in the 2016 Orange Bowl.
If you’re looking for an example of why high value potential draft picks are beginning to skip college bowl games, look no further than that.
Denver got some good non-injury related news too, Wednesday. Rookie quarterback Drew Lock, picked in the second round of April’s NFL Draft, has signed his contract and ready to join the QB depth chart.
QB Drew Lock agrees to terms with the Broncos, per source.

In his senior year at Missouri, Lock completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 3,498 yards and 28 touchdowns with eight interceptions.
