Todd Gurley and his knee have dominated all conversations about the Los Angeles Rams this offseason. Gurley struggled with an injured knee for all of 2018 and missed multiple games at the end of the year as the team tried to rest him for the playoffs. The Rams made it all the way to Super Bowl LIII, but Gurley’s absence in the offensive gameplan was felt on the scoreboard. The Rams lost to the New England Patriots 13-3.
Gurley’s been held out of all of L.A.’s offseason work and, from the sound of it, even he doesn’t know how healthy he is coming into camp.
“It’s good, man. It’s good,” Gurley told the NFL Network. “I’m just like, hey, we’re going to find out in training camp, you know? Once training camp comes, you’ve got the preseason, but you don’t have a lot in preseason.”

For his part, Gurley isn’t planning on altering his playing style, regardless of any worry of a recurrence of his knee issues.
“No, man,” Gurley said. “For me, I’ve been doing this my whole life, so it would be so hard for me to even try to change my style of play. That’s not even me. I don’t even know how to describe my game. I’m just going to keep doing what I can do until I can’t do it no more. That’s why we play this sport. But I’ve been feeling good. I’m definitely not going to change anything. I’m going to come with that same mindset like third-and-1, fourth-and-1, I’m gonna try to go get it. So I’m just excited. I know it’s always been a lot of talk going on this whole offseason, so it’s just like, hey, it’s the offseason. That’s what everything is supposed to be about: speculation and reporting. Once the season comes, you gonna see what happens.”

The Rams drafted Darrell Henderson out of Memphis and kept Malcolm Brown this offseason to lesson Gurley’s workload. In spite of his injury, Gurley led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns in 2018. He rushed for 1,251 yards, averaged 4.9 yards per carry and caught 59 passes for 580 yards and four touchdowns.
