This is not good news. Just a little over a week after cancelling the final two days of their planned collective bargaining agreement negotiations, the NFL and NFLPA have again decided to literally punt the football down the line, cancelling Monday’s meeting and rescheduling it for the first week of August.
That’s the plan, at least. There has been no official “rescheduling” as of this writing.
Confirmed: Monday's meeting between owners and NFLPA leadership has been postponed. They'll meet the first week in August, and there are several dates set aside beyond the first week in August for meetings.

What does this mean? It could be nothing, but considering all the issues on the table in the CBA negotiations, it’s likely an attempt to, once again, get active players out of the room while the NFL owners push around the profoundly pliable NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith.
It’s obvious to me that the owners do not want player advocates in the room and are doing all they can to minimize that possibility. Here’s to hoping the players, guys like Richard Sherman and Adam Vinatieri, don’t let them do it.
Robert Griffin III fractures thumbs
It’s been a rough 2019 training camp season for digits. Baltimore Ravens back up quarterback Robert Griffin III fractured his thumb and should be out four-to-eight weeks. Griffin appeared in three games last season for the Ravens, completing 2-of-6 passes for 21 yards.
The former Washington Redskins first round pick could be ready for Week 1 if all goes well. In the meantime, plenty of practice work has opened up for sixth-round pick Trace McSorely out of Penn State.
Ravens’ QB Robert Griffin III is expected to be out 4-8 weeks with a hairline fracture in his right thumb, per source. Griffin injured his thumb tonight during practice.
