15. Buffalo Bills – (4-5) The Bills are off this week to lick their wounds and figure out who they should fire before they lose five games in a row. Is that towel boy giving you the side-eye, Rex? Last week: 14
16. Cincinnati Bengals – (3-4-1) The Bengals should have gone to the Super Bowl last year. If they stay on this path they won’t even make the NFL playoffs this season. The Giants will be no help on Monday night. Last week: 15
17. Carolina Panthers – (3-5) Panthers, I just want you to know how much I appreciate the defeat you handed the Rams last week. You were doing God’s work. Your schedule doesn’t help you down the stretch to be a playoff team, but 8-8 is on the table. Last week: 18
18. New Orleans Saints – (4-4) The Saints draw the defending Super Bowl champions this week after hitting .500 for the first time in over a calendar year. A win over the Broncos this week not only makes the Saints winners for the first time in years, it opens a straight path to the NFL playoffs. Last week: 19
19. Indianapolis Colts – (4-5) Have you finally decided to show up, Colts? Why did it take two months to get here? If the Colts win this week it’ll be their first back-to-back wins of the season. Last week: 20
20. Baltimore Ravens – (4-4) I’m not sure if the Ravens have really solved anything with their win over the Steelers. I’ll know even less after they beat the Browns Thursday night. Last week: 21
21. Washington Redskins – (4-3-1) It’s been a while since the Redskins won a game. In fact, it’s been almost a full month. Two weeks ago this Vikings match up looked like a sure loss, but fortunes have changed over the last two weeks. Last week: 17
22. Miami Dolphins – (4-4) The Dolphins have won three straight games and face the Chargers, the Rams and the 49ers over the next three Sundays. Adam Gase could go from the Coach Ineptitude List to the Coach of the Year in the span of a month. Last week: 24
23. Detroit Lions – (5-4) The Lions are taking a victory into their bye and have already outperformed my expectations. Three of their last four wins have come against quality opponents and they host the Jaguars when they’re back from the break. This train isn’t leaving the tracks soon. Last week: 25
24. New York Jets – (3-6) Dpn’t feel so dejected after a horrible loss to the Dolphins, New York. Jeff Fisher is bringing the Rams to town to make everything alright. Last week: 21
25. San Diego Chargers – (4-5) Mike McCoy continues to do just enough to save his job, but not enough to save the team from moving out of San Diego. On election day the city voted against the Chargers’ stadium proposal. Last week: 28
26. Tennessee Titans – (4-5) With last Sunday’s loss, Mike Mularkey has officially doubled up his mark for career defeats. He’s 22-44 for a winning percentage of .333. Last week: 26
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – (3-5) Dirk Koetter has the Buccaneers offense rolling pretty well. The defense just can’t stop anybody, which was the problem last season that got Lovie Smith fired. Last week: 23
28. Chicago Bears – (2-6) Jay Cutler looked like an elite quarterback in his last game, but that’s what he does. He’s good for three or four of those a season. The question is, with just eight games to play, can he stack a few of them up in a row? Last week: 27
29. Jacksonville Jaguars – (2-6) It’s not fair to discuss Mike Mularkey’s record without, once again, pointing out that Gus Bradley is 14-42 and still employed. His win column won’t change this week, but maybe his job status might. Last week: 29
30. Los Angeles Rams – (3-5) Jeff Fisher is a game into a four-game odyssey where the prize awaiting at the end is a pink slip. Make him 0-2 in those games, Jets. Last week: 30
31. San Francisco 49ers – (1-7) The 49ers offense has scored 28 points just once this NFL season and scored less than 18 points four times. Chip Kelly is an offensive mastermind. Last week: 31
32. Cleveland Browns – (0-9) Browns, if you’re going to escape going 0-16, Thursday night is your best chance. Prepare for it like it’s the Super Bowl. It’s the closest you’ll ever come to that feeling anyway. Last week: 32
