Week 2 was an epic rollercoaster ride for bettors – especially as kickers kept missing key kicks left and right. As we shift our focus to Week 3, here’s a look at the opening lines for this week’s contests:
New York Jets at Cleveland Browns
Opening Line: Browns -3
The Browns have fought valiantly for two straight weeks but have no wins to show for it. They also have some serious kicking concerns as they head into their Thursday night matchup as a field goal favorite.
Buffalo Bills at Minnesota Vikings
Opening Line: Vikings -16
As big as this line is, we’ve already seen it climb to 16.5. The Bills showed a pulse last week but were still blown out. Now they go on the road to face one of the top teams in the NFC.
Denver Broncos at Baltimore Ravens
Opening Line: Ravens -4.5
Both teams had bad first halves in Week 2 but the Broncos survived and won, while the Ravens fell short in Cincinnati. This will be the Broncos first road game of the year.
Indianapolis Colts at Philadelphia Eagles
Opening Line: Eagles -6
We’re still waiting to hear about Carson Wentz’s status for this contest, which is why you might see it off the board at times this week.
Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers
Opening Line: Panthers -3
The Bengals are 2-0 but have looked very shaky at times in both games. They’ll have had 10 days to prepare for their road trip to Carolina.
San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs
Opening Line: Chiefs -6
Do the Chiefs have the best offense in the NFL? It might be hard to argue otherwise right now as they’ve scored 80 points in two games. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the very early frontrunner for MVP with 10 touchdown passes, no interceptions and a 69.1 percent completion percentage.
Green Bay Packers at Washington Redskins
Opening Line: Packers -3
Apparently Aaron Rodgers is just fine to keep on playing – even with the injured knee. His Packers will visit the Washington Redskins, who had a very flat performance in Week 2 when they lost at home to the Indianapolis Colts.
Los Angeles Chargers at Los Angeles Rams
Opening Line: Rams -7
The Rams have the upper hand heading into the battle for Los Angeles. They’ve outscored their first two opponents by a count of 77-13.
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars
Opening Line: Jaguars -6.5
The Jaguars are fresh off an impressive blowout win over the New England Patriots. They’re making a case to be the best team in the AFC. They could get an easier than expected matchup this week if Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is still injured.
New England Patriots at Detroit Lions
Opening Line: Patriots -7
Matt Patricia faces his former teams as the Lions host the Patriots. The Lions were blown out in their home opener by the New York Jets but played valiantly in a 30-27 loss at San Francisco in Week 2.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Opening Line: Steelers -2.5
The Bucs aren’t getting any respect as they’re a home dog to the 0-1-1 Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bucs have been very impressive so far with wins over the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles in their first two contests.
Other Opening Lines
Oakland Raiders at Miami Dolphins (-3)
New York Giants at Houston Texans (-3.5)
Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks (-3)
