NHL Picks: Saturday’s Lineup Includes Avalanche at Canadiens

NHL Picks:  A busy Saturday of NHL action includes the Montreal Canadiens hosting the Colorado Avalanche.  It has been a solid start to the season for the Canadiens as they won three of their first four games. The same cannot be said for the Avalanche who had dropped two of their first three contests.  Let’s look at all of Saturday’s games and NHL predictions.

Colorado at Montreal (CBC)

The Avalanche has more than held their own in this series, winning six of the last ten.  The teams split two meetings last season with each team winning at home. The Avalanche won 4-1 while the Canadiens won 6-3.  Colorado has won two of the last three in Montreal and four of the last five in the series at Montreal have gone over.  Both teams are capable of scoring at least three goals each in this contest so we’ll go with the trends on the total and take this game over.

More NHL Predictions for Saturday

  • Boston at Buffalo – Even though the Sabres look to be improved this season it is still hard to go against the Bruins in this one.
  • Toronto at Detroit (NHL Network) – This one should be high scoring and fun to watch.  We’ll play the over.
  • Columbus at Ottawa – The Blue Jackets are a live dog in this one so we’ll take the plus price.
  • Florida at Washington – The Capitals are the play in this one and the game should be low scoring.
  • San Jose at New Jersey – The Sharks are usually a very good team to bet on the road so we’ll take them in this one.
  • New York Islanders at Pittsburgh – This series is almost always high scoring so we’ll take the over.
  • Philadelphia at Dallas – We’ll lay the price and take the Stars at home.
  • Nashville at Chicago – We’ll go under the total in this one.
  • St. Louis at Arizona – We’ll also go under the total in this matchup.
  • Tampa Bay at Vancouver (CBC) – This is a good spot for a late road underdog play so we’ll take the Lightning.
