Some startling news surprised the NFL community on Friday when a video surfaced of Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt brutalizing and kicking a woman. The video shows Hunt pushing a woman down in the midst of a heated argument and then kicking her while she’s crouching on the ground. The incident happened on February 10th, 2018 but it is worth noting that the police didn’t arrest or charge Hunt because they couldn’t determine if a crime had been committed. The Chiefs have since issued a statement and released Hunt.
The issue is that the video has surfaced and it’s not a good look for Hunt, who has already had a number of off-field issues and could face a suspension. The oddsmakers at BetDSI have stated that the Chiefs odds to the win the Super Bowl won’t be impacted by this. The Chiefs are currently 4/1.

We still have to learn all of the details from the video, but Hunt’s friends claim that he was in defense mode. Allegedly, the woman who got into the argument with Hunt called him the n-word and struck one of his female friends in the face, which precipitated the incident. At any rate, now that we have video evidence, this has the feel of the Ray Rice incident.
The challenge for Hunt is that he had a couple off off-field incidents and this will now add to the pile. There was an incident where a woman claimed that Hunt shoved and pushed her in downtown Cleveland after a night out on the town. The reports differ but the group went back to Hunt’s place and the woman and her friends were kicked. It’s unclear whether the video that surfaced is from that situation but that is what is understood at this point.
In a separate incident, Hunt allegedly punched a man in the face in an Ohio resort but the man declined to press charges.
In terms of the betting odds for this week, the Chiefs were as high as a 15.5-point favorite but they are now down to -14 at Oakland. Their Super Bowl odds remain unaffected.
