His team unquestionably drafted his replacement in Daniel Jones out of Duke, but quarterback Eli Manning doesn’t feel like there’s any real competition between the two as the New York Giants head into training camp.

“I feel like I’ve got to do my job and I’ve got to compete every day and get better every day,” Manning told the NFL Network. “That’s the way it’s been my whole life.”

Manning completed 66 percent of his passes last season for 4,299 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Rams lose Neary for four games

Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Aaron Neary has been suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Neary has started one game for the Rams in 2017 before bouncing around the league. Los Angeles originally signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington in 2017.

Chargers and Buccaneers add to offensive lines

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed offensive lineman Josh LeRibeus after a three-day tryout with the team. LiRibeus is a former third round pick with the Washington Redskins. He made three starts for the New Orleans Saints in 2018.

Brant Weiss was added to the Los Angeles Chargers roster. Weiss is a former Arizona Cardinal who spent time in the Alliance of American Football this past spring. To open a roster spot, the Chargers cut Koda Martin.
