Colonial Athletic foes will lock horns when the Drexel Dragons (5-23) challenge the Northeastern Huskies (16-14) at John A Daskalakis Center. Action begins at 4:00 pm ET on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The Dragons enter this game hoping for similar success after topping Delaware 74-64 on Thursday. Terrell Allen was the team’s leading scorer with 19 points on 4-for-5 shooting. The Huskies, meanwhile, are coming off a 58-57 win against Charleston on Thursday. Zach Stahl led the team in scoring by registering 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting.
This is the second game of the season between these two teams, with the Huskies winning the first matchup 70-60. David Walker had a stellar game with 21 points, three rebounds, five assists, one steal, and five three-pointers.
The Dragons come into this game 5-23 Straight Up (SU) and 12-14-1 Against The Spread (ATS). Over their last 10 games, they have only managed a record of 3-7 ATS. Not making mistakes with the ball is a staple of the Drexel offense, which averages just 11.2 turnovers per game.
Over on the other bench, the Huskies have 16-14 SU and 12-15 ATS records. Offensively, the Huskies have really sputtered in the last 10 games. Their season average has fallen to 72.5 points per game after averaging only 64.3 during that stretch. One advantage for the Huskies could be Drexel’s high fouls per game average of 22.0.
With the Huskies’ last win against Drexel, their SU record is now 6-4 over Drexel in their most recent meetings. Furthermore, Northeastern holds the advantage ATS with a record of 6-4. Drexel held the edge in field goals, rebounds, and three-pointers one time, while Northeastern was never able to do so in their most recent five games.
