It will be a battle between Southland opponents when the Abilene Christian Wildcats (6-9) welcome the Northwestern State Demons (3-10) to Moody Coliseum. The game starts at 8:00 pm ET on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
The Wildcats lost a tough one against Nicholls 63-62 on Saturday. Jaylen Franklin put together a strong game for the Wildcats, contributing 14 points, four steals, and three rebounds. The Demons are coming off a 70-56 loss at the hands of Incarnate Word on Saturday. Zeek Woodley had a good shooting night, leading the team with 15 points.
Jaren Lewis has been playing at a high level as of late for the Wildcats, averaging 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.6 three-pointers over the last five games.
It could be an error-filled game for the Northwestern State offense, which ranks 278th in the nation in ball security (TO% of 20.3%). It’ll be facing the gambling Abilene Christian defense, which forces the 32nd-most turnovers in the nation (22.3%).
