Tonight, NXT starts getting down to the nitty-gritty on the road to TakeOver: Orlando. With a show heavily featuring SanitY, as well as the Tag Team and Women’s Divisions, everything is topped off with NXT Champion Bobby Roode’s Glorious Celebration. While this show only runs one hour-long episodes, this episode in particular is stuffed with segments.
Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe (w/Eric Young & Nikki Cross) vs. The Bollywood Boyz
Well, these two teams couldn’t be more different. Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe, and the rest of SAnitY are (ironically) unhinged. They are starting to destroy whatever they come across in NXT, and the addition of Killian Dain has only helped their motives. This is Dain’s first official match in NXT, after just attacking people for weeks. The Bollywood Boyz on the other hand, are fun, animated, and focused on entertainment.
Killian Dain (formerly known as Big Damo) does such a good job of taking care of Harv and Gurv Sihra (The Bollywood Boyz) that Alexander Wolfe never needs to be tagged in. Dain powerbombs one of top of the other, elbows a stack of Sihra brothers, and finishes the match with a fisherman Michinoku Driver. Winners: Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe
Following SAnitY’s win, Eric Young gives his weekly warning to the rest of the roster, while Nikki Cross screams and flails about demanding Asuka.
Liv Morgan vs. Billie Kay (w/Peyton Royce)
Liv Morgan has not been doing the greatest in terms of a win-loss record, but she has been determined in challenging the best women NXT has to offer in the spirit of competition. With Billie Kay as her opponent tonight, she definitely got what she’s asked for. Kay competed in the Fatal Four Way Women’s Championship match at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio against Peyton Royce, Nikki Cross, and still the champion, Asuka.
Peyton Royce gets on the apron to help Billie Kay get a rope break, but this backfires when Kay bumps into her partner. Morgan then rolls Kay up for the surprise victory, which could be huge for her momentum. Winner: Liv Morgan
Backstage Interview
Tye Dillinger is being interviewed about his big Pay-Per-View weekend between TakeOver: San Antonio and the Royal Rumble when he is attacked from behind by Eric Young. Young, along with the rest of SAnitY, continues the assault all the way to the ring, and Dillinger gets some unexpected help in the form of Roderick Strong and No Way Jose.
Announcements
NXT General Manager William Regal announces that next week, we will see the first-ever WWE United Kingdom Championship title defense. Champion Tyler Bate, who won the title in the first-ever WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament by defeating Pete Dunne. Bate competed on NXT last week, defeating Oney Lorcan in a special exhibition match. The 19 year-old will defend his title against his partner in the Progress Wrestling stable British Strong Style and fellow citizen of Moustache Mountain, Trent Seven.
Right after William Regal makes this announcement, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce storm in, demanding a rematch against Liv Morgan after accusing her of cheating to win earlier tonight. Regal likes the idea, and decides that next week, Kay and Royce will take on Morgan and a partner of her choosing.
Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic) vs. The Revival
Heavy Machinery have been slowly making a name for themselves by touring the house show circuit. In one of their first prominent television matches outside of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic take on the only two-time Tag Team Champions in NXT history.
Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder use the divide and conquer strategy that has won them several matches over the past couple years, and a DDT plants Tucker Knight and gives The Revival an expected victory. Winners: The Revival
After the match, the self-professed Top Guys cut a promo about how they deserve another NXT Tag Team Championship match. The Authors of Pain make their way to the ring, but Dash and Dawson retreat. Once the champions make it to the stage, The Revival hit them from behind for a quick hit-and-run attack.
Bobby Roode’s Glorious Celebration
Since the middle of 2016, Bobby Roode has said that he will take NXT to the next level. Roode won the NXT Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura at TakeOver: San Antonio, and it seems like he has lived up to that claim. Now, after doing what he said he was going to do, he is here to gloat about it.
Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose, & Roderick Strong vs. SAnitY (w/Nikki Cross)
Due to Eric Young’s persistence that Dillinger joins SAnitY, a brawl broke out earlier tonight that led to this match. It is unclear why No Way Jose and Roderick Strong helped Tye Dillinger out, but it could just be because they’re good people.
While the referee is distracted with Killian Dain, Nikki Cross gets Tye Dillinger out of the ring with a hurricanrana. Eric Young takes his turn at distracting the ref so Dain can hit Roderick Strong with a running cross body. Young covers Strong, and the numbers game gives them another win. Winners: SAnitY
