Oakland Raiders – Kansas City Chiefs Preview

The Kansas City Chiefs (7-6) take on the Oakland Raiders (2-11) looking to put an end to their three-game losing streak. The game will begin Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on CBS.

The Chiefs and Raiders last met in Week 12. Kansas City suffered a defeat against Oakland 24-20. Jamaal Charles had a huge game the last time they met, putting up 122 total yards and a score. He finished with 80 yards on the ground and 42 yards receiving. Latavius Murray had a great outing running the ball for Oakland, gaining 112 yards and two TDs on four attempts.

The Over/Under (O/U) for the matchup is sitting at 43 points and the Raiders are a considerable nine-point underdog. Sitting at 7-6 Straight Up (SU) and 8-5 Against The Spread (ATS), the Chiefs will look to improve as they head into Week 15. In their five most recent matchups, the Chiefs went 2-3 both SU and ATS. A big source of success this season is the running game, where the Chiefs average 4.8 yards per carry at home. The Chiefs defense has been very good this season, only giving up 18.5 points per game. Expect the Chiefs defense to really restrict Oakland’s aerial assault. The Chiefs have the second-ranked pass defense in the NFL and give up only 199 passing yards per game. The Chiefs hope to continue the trend of torching Oakland’s defense during the second quarter, when they allow 8.5 points per game. For Kansas City, special teams has provided an extra spark. They average the most return yards in the NFL with 128.5 per game.

On the other side, the Raiders head into Week 15 with records of 7-6 ATS and 2-11 SU. In the previous five games, Oakland has a record of 2-3 SU and 3-2 ATS. Averaging 85.2 rushing yards over their last five games, Oakland’s running backs have really turned it on as of late. For the season, they’ve only averaged 73.1 yards per game. Shifting to the other side of the ball, it might be tough for the Chiefs to keep up with Oakland’s defense in a few areas. Oakland’s defense ranks in the top half of the league for passing yards allowed and will look to bolster its statistics this week against the 31st-ranked passing attack of the Chiefs, which only averages 190.7 yards through the air per game.

Predictions: SU Winner – KC, ATS Winner – KC, O/U – Under
