Ohio Bobcats vs. Virginia Cavaliers Betting Preview

Ohio is playing the role of underdog and is currently getting 7 points in this game. The Bobcats are also receiving +210 moneyline odds while the Cavaliers are -270. There should be some good in-game betting scenarios during the contest.

The game’s line opened at -7, but has recently moved.

The Bobcats are 0-1 against the spread (ATS) and have gained 0.0 units so far in 2018. The team has posted an O/U record of 0-0. The Cavaliers have gained 0.0 units this season. The team is 2-0 ATS and owns an O/U record of 0-1.

The Bobcats are 1-0 straight up (SU) in 2018 while the Cavaliers are 1-1 SU.

The Bobcats are looking to remain undefeated following a 38-32 win over Howard on September 1. The passing game was sharp as the Bobcats completed 19-of-33 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Quinton Maxwell went 17-for-25 for 233 yards and two touchdowns while Nathan Rourke completed two-of-eight for 44 yards. A.J. Ouellette (only 59 rushing yards on 17 attempts) and Maleek Irons (52 yards on nine carries) led the ground attack in the win while Papi White (eight receptions, 154 yards, one TD) and Cameron Odom (three catches, 48 yards, one TD) handled the receiving duties.

Virginia just lost a 20-16 game to Indiana. The defense allowed the Hoosiers to kill the clock by rushing for 237 yards on 44 attempts, along with one rushing TD. Stevie Scott shredded the defense, putting up 204 rushing yards and a score on 31 attempts for Indiana. For Virginia, Bryce Perkins completed 12-of-24 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Perkins (123 rushing yards on 25 attempts) and Jordan Ellis (63 yards on 12 carries) mounted the ground game in the defeat as Olamide Zaccheaus (five receptions, 15 yards, one TD) and Hasise Dubois (four catches, 49 yards) led the pass-catching attack.

If 2017’s results can translate to this year, then it seems like the Bobcats should hold an advantage when it comes to RB effectiveness, as their running backs produced 5.7 yards per carry last season while the defense allowed a YPC of 3.5 to opponents. The Cavaliers registered 3.1 yards per carry last year and gave up 4.7 yards per rush attempt to opponents..
