The Green Bay Packers have yet to win a road game this season and that could end up costing them a shot at the playoffs. On Thursday night, the Packers dropped to 0-5 in away games when they blew a fourth quarter lead in Seattle and lost 27-24. Now the oddsmakers at BetDSI have posted betting lines on whether or not the Packers will make the playoffs this season:
Will Green Bay Packers qualify for 2018-19 NFL Playoffs?
Yes +600
No -1000
The Packers have now dropped to 4-5-1 on the season and are 8th in the NFC. The good news is they have a decent shot to catch two teams in front of them – both in their division – as they’ll have multiple showdowns with them. The Packers are currently trying to track down the Minnesota Vikings, who are 5-3-1 and are in sixth place in the NFC playoff picture. They are also two wins behind the Chicago Bears, Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers, who are all at 6-3.

The best bet for the Packers is to catch either the Vikings or Bears. To start, both of those teams will square off two more times, so if either of them loses twice or if they split, that should help the Packers. The Packers will also face each of these teams once more, although both games will be on the road.
Green Bay holds the tiebreak with Chicago after beating them in Week 1. The Packers tied the Vikings in Week 2 this season, so the tiebreaker would be determined next week when the visit Minnesota.
What’s working in the Packers favor is that they have yet to lose at home this season and have three more home games. That could get them to seven wins – especially with the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions being the three teams visiting. Beyond that, the Packers play at the Vikings, at the Bears and at the Jets. If they beat the Jets and sweep their home games, that gets them to eight wins. A win over Chicago or Minnesota might just do the trick and allow them to sneak into the playoffs as a Wild Card with nine wins. However, it’s an uphill battle to say the least.
The main issue for the Packers is a passing game that lacks credible weapons outside of Davante Adams, an offensive line that is tied for third in the NFL with the most sacks allowed (32) and a rush defense that is 25th in the NFL (allowing 126.1 yards per game).
While that’s the bad news, the good news is the Packers have Aaron Rodgers, who is arguably one of the best quarterbacks of all-time. We’ll see if he can put the team on his back one more time and carry them to the playoffs this season. As of now, the odds overwhelmingly suggest it’s a ‘no’.
