All offseason, there have been worries about Cam Newton’s throwing shoulder. Newton was never the same after injuring his shoulder midway through 2018, and the Carolina Panthers tanked as a result. The team finished 1-7 after a 6-2 start, so fans are hoping that their franchise quarterback will be back to full strength this year. Carolina has made an effort to alleviate worries by live streaming Newton throwing passes during minicamp. Needless to say, this has garnered a lot of attention.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have some characters on the roster, and the ribbing between Leonard Fournette and Jalen Ramsey has heated up over the last few weeks. Fournette launched the latest salvo in response to Ramsey filming his arrival at minicamp on Monday. This comes off the heels of both Fournette and Ramsey teasing teammate Myles Jack for his side business of selling homemade candles, so you can be sure there will be more hijinks throughout the week.

Ramsey is in the news for another reason too. The Pro Bowl cornerback has two more years on his deal, and he was asked about whether there had been discussions of an extension that would keep him in Duval. He responded that the Jaguars have left him with the impression that there will be no talk of an extension until after the season, and then he took to Twitter. Ramsey has made it clear that he believes he is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and he expects to be paid like one.

Le’Veon Bell is back in the news too. Bell showed up for mandatory minicamp last week, but he continues to be absent from any voluntary team event. That has certainly not won him any friends in the Jets front office, and if he gets off to a slow start, the fanbase could turn on him quickly.
