Patrick Peterson Suspended Six Games, Lee to Chiefs and More

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Patrick Peterson will start the season with a nice, six-week vacation courtesy of the NFL’s performance enhancing drug policy. Before this, Peterson never missed a single game for any reason in his nine-year career. If there’s one bright spot for the Cardinals, they open with six non-NFC West games. Peterson should return when the Arizona travel to New York to face the Giants on Oct 10. Peterson recorded 54 tackles, five passes defended, two interceptions and one fumble recovery last season.

Jets trade Darron Lee to Chiefs

Acting general manager Adam Gase is wasting no time clearing up his roster. Wednesday, the New York Jets shipped former first round pick Darron Lee to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2020 sixth-round pick. Lee started 12 games last season, recording 74 tackles, five for a loss, five passes defended, three interceptions and one returned for a touchdown.

Scott Pioli stepped down as assistant general manager for the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday after a five-year stint with the team. Pioli served as general manager for the Kansas City Chiefs for four seasons before joining Atlanta.
