Honestly, what would an NFL Sunday be like without Bill Belichick? Remember, on Sunday Belichick gained his 300th career victory; ironically over the Cleveland Browns in a 27-13 win in New England. Now, Belichick is talking about coaching well into his 70’s. Before we get into the meat and potatoes of what was said, allow us to back up a moment and look at an important detail. In reality, we all know Brady and Belichick are going out together. Truly, can you picture one without the other?

Recently, Tom Brady commented on how much longer he will play. Moreover, a recent storyline has come out saying that things are better than ever between Belichick and Brady.

Per Mike Reiss who covers the New England Patriots for ESPN, here’s what Belichick had to say in an interview on Monday about his coaching future.

Right now, Belichick feels great. And that may be bad news for opposing NFL teams.

“When I said it, maybe I didn’t know what 70 felt like,” the New England Patriots coach said Monday during his weekly appearance on sports radio WEEI. “So I’m not really sure if that’s an accurate statement today or not. At the time, I didn’t feel that way. Now that I’m closer to that age, I don’t know.”

Moreover, Belichick recently talked about how much he loves having his sons Steve and Brian as part of the Patriots coaching staff. And as if this post didn’t have enough positive Belichick run within it, here’s a couple of clips to bring about nostalgia. Without question, Belichick has been doing his thing for a long time.

Finally, I think I have arrived at a stage of comfort with Belichick. Really, I just figure they will win their 13, 14, or 15 games and the Patriots are who I will be watching on Super Bowl Sunday. Until that point, I think it’s really neat to see who challenges them in the AFC Title Game; and it’s really cool to see who hangs a meaningless loss or two on them.

Most of all, I would miss Belichick’s press conferences if he decided to go do something else. In closing, let’s not be silly. Belichick doesn’t know a life without coaching and he’s likely to die in a film room. That’s what legends are made of, after all.
