Usually, Tom Brady is telling us about his ‘TB12’ company and how it keeps him ageless. Equally important, major networks like FOX Sports are debating his skills against young superstar Patrick Mahomes.
However, and this is contrary to some belief; Brady is human. Indeed, Brady gets sore and has his ‘off’ days like the rest of us. In fact, one of those days was Wednesday when he was limited in practice. Moreover – for one of the first times on record – Brady admitted age to be a factor.
Brady, limited in practice again, says age a factor
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been limited in three of the past four practices, and cited his age as part of the reason why. "Football is a contact sport. I wouldn't say I'm a spring chicken

The money quote comes from Mike Reiss who covers the Patriots exclusively for ESPN. Reiss spoke with Brady following the light day of work:
“Football is a contact sport. I wouldn’t say I’m a spring chicken anymore,” Brady, 42, said with a smile Wednesday. “I’m trying to just feel as great as I can, and we’ll see how it goes tomorrow. But I feel pretty good.”
Of course, Brady will be out there Sunday against the Buffalo Bills; doing all he can to keep his team undefeated. While it is uncommon to hear the six-time Super Bowl champion talk about aging, it’s typical to see him listed on the injury report in some fashion. After all, this is a common Bill Belichick practice.
Right now, Brady has seven touchdowns with no interceptions along with 911 passing yards in three games. Thus far he’s completed over 67 percent of his passes.
In terms of performance, he is showing no signs of slowing down. Equally important, he has said before that he wants to play until he’s 50 in the past.
All of this is admirable. For instance, I’m 36 and I have trouble walking down the stairs without pain in the knees or some extremities some mornings. However, I would never claim to be Tom Brady. Still, the guy takes huge hits every Sunday and just keeps on ticking like a Swiss watch.
He may have his detractors, but if we are being honest; he’s good for the sport. Whenever he decides to hang up the cleats, the NFL will not be as enjoyable to talk or write about.
