Patriots News: Tom Brady Comments On How Much Longer He Will Play

New England Patriots

Certainly, Tom Brady will play for the rest of time right? Picture the year 2039. Then, Brady is 62 years old and still throwing touchdown passes to the sons of Randy Moss and Antonio Brown. While Bill Belichick is a great great grandfather in his final years of life; Brady fondly remembers his humble beginnings some 40 years earlier.

Indeed, it’s fun to dream. While it seems like Brady will play quarterback forever – and he may for a while longer – time is the one game he can’t beat.

On Wednesday, he told Mike Reiss who covers the New England Patriots for ESPN that his future is uncertain.

These are important quotes if you’re interested in how much longer Brady will play. However, don’t expect to have an expiration date handed to you by the great one.

“I think that’s the great part for me — I don’t know. I think that’s been a unique situation that I’ve been in. I think when you commit to a team for a certain amount of years, you kind of feel like your responsibility is to always fulfill the contract. For me, it’s been good because I’m just taking it day by day and I’m enjoying what I have. I don’t know what the future holds, and the great part is, for me, football at this point is all borrowed time.”

Undeniably, any quarterback who has played since 1999 in the NFL would consider to be on borrowed time.

Think about it. Right now Brady is being given gifts from star players who were seven when he started playing. Furthermore, the shoulder pads he wears are older than most of his teammates. Altogether, it’s hard to get your head around.

Brady talks about his two decades in the game, and in his life. He almost sounds a little emotional with the verbiage.

“I never expected to play 20 years. I’m playing on a great team. It’s just been an incredible 20 years of my life — to play for Mr. Kraft, and Jonathan, and the Kraft family, and for Coach Belichick, and to have so much success is a dream come true.”

Finally, enjoy Tom Brady while he’s playing. Obviously, he’s got a maximum of three or four more years. While I have never been a Patriots fan, and I’m sick of seeing them in Super Bowls; they’re always relevant. Admit it – when they’re on television – you leave them on. Brady and his run have been good for our entertainment viewing pleasure.

I do wish he would play another twenty years, or at least ten.
