Philadelphia Phillies a Slight Favorite at Home on Saturday vs. New York Mets

MLB Odds:  The New York Mets visit the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday and it should be the home team listed as a slight favorite.  The New York Mets are expected to go with Jacob deGrom who is winless in three starts even though his ERA is 1.83.  He is expected to be opposed by Kyle Kendrick who is 1-5 on the season. Here is a look at the contest and MLB predictions.

Hard Luck Pitcher

The New York Mets have not given Jacob deGrom much run support. The pitcher has been outstanding in his three starts but his record is 0-2.  His ERA is 1.83 which is the lowest for any New York Mets pitcher in his first three starts since 2010.

Philadelphia Phillies Pitching

The starter for the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday should be Kyle Kendrick.  He is 1-4 on the season with a 4.04 ERA.  It is hard to know what to expect out of Kendrick. His record and ERA are not that great but he held the Colorado Rockies scoreless in 6.2 innings last time out and got a win.  He has had six quality starts in six of his ten appearances.  Kendrick is 1-2 in his last three starts with a 4.19 ERA. He is 8-8 in his career against the New York Mets with a 3.58 ERA.

Series Notes

The New York Mets had won 7 of their last 10 against the Philadelphia Phillies before this series started.  Two of the last three had gone over the total. The New York Mets had also won 7 of their last 10 in Philadelphia with five of the last six going over the baseball betting odds at the online sportsbook.

MLB Predictions

The pitching edge in this game is with the New York Mets as they have deGrom who has pitched well in all of his starts. The trends also really support the road team.  I will take a shot with the New York Mets in this one and also play the game under the total.
