The Premier League season continues with a full slate of games on Saturday and that means a ton of money on the line in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. This week, there’s $15,000 guaranteed prize on the line in the EPL $15K Striker. Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool will all be watching on Saturday and if you are struggling to fill out your lineup, we have already done the work when it comes to identifying the perfect mix of star players and fantasy sleepers.
Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues.
GK: Heurelho Gomes, Watford
Salary: $4,400
Watford might have only one win to show for its first five games of the Premier League season but they have shut out their opposition in three of their last four games. They will have a favorable matchup on Saturday when they take on a Newcastle side that is still looking for its first win. Gomes has looked good early on this season and the matchup – combined with his decent price tag – makes him a good fit for Saturday.
D: Ritchie De Laet, Leicester
Salary: $3,800
Those waiting for Leicester to slow down probably shouldn’t count on it this week when they visit a Stoke City side that has scored only three goals through its first five games. De Laet isn’t a lock to contribute offensively but he does have a goal in five games this year and should be a solid option here available at under $4K.
D: Allan Nyom, Watford
Salary: $3,700
Sticking with the theme of Watford’s favorable matchup (against a Newcastle side that has just two goals for through its first five games), it only makes sense to go back to them for a value fantasy play at the defender position. Nyom has been a solid defensive presence for the team early on and at under $4K he makes sense as the best defender option off of Watford’s roster.
M: Yaya Toure, Manchester City
Salary: $8,600
Five games in to the Premier League season, it already looks as though City is poised to run away with the title as they have averaged just over two goals per game while recording five straight wins. Toure has been an absolute force in the midfield with four points in five games. He is definitely worth investing a little more money in as City looks to remain undefeated when they clash with West Ham United on Saturday.
M: Jeremain Lens, Sunderland
Salary: $6,400
Sunderland is still looking for its first win of the season but they have scored six goals in five matches with Lens recording a goal, two assists and 10 shots already. Bournemouth isn’t going to lay down for them this weekend but it certainly has the potential to be a higher scoring game. Lens is available at a good enough price to plug him in as our second midfielder.

F: Jamie Vardy, Leicester
Salary: $8,500
Vardy has been on fire dating back to last season and he will lead the way for Leicester up front this weekend when they take on Stoke. With three goals and an assist as well as 13 shots through five games, there is no doubt that Vardy is worth his $8.5K price tag for this weekend’s action.
F: Jermain Defoe, Sunderland
Salary: $7,000
We are already banking on Lens to produce from the midfield position and it wouldn’t be a shock to anyone if he and Defoe hook up on at least one goal for Saturday. Defoe has been held to two goals through his first five games despite 10 shots. We like him to break through this weekend with the potential to double that goal total.
FLEX: Callum Wilson, Bournemouth
Salary: $7,400
One of the biggest reasons why Bournemouth isn’t in the bottom three through the first five games of the season is the play of Wilson up front. He has four goals through his first five Premier League games. Wilson had four goals in two games before he was held without a point in his last game versus Norwich but Sunderland has already conceded the second-most goals in the Premier League with 11 allowed. That means Wilson should be able to get back on track as our FLEX play on Saturday.
