Building the best fantasy Premier League starting 11 is all about finding the perfect balance between production, potential, favorable matchups and salaries that can fit on your roster. Depending on the league there is probably some sort of salary cap that you have to deal with so you might not be able to fit all of these players on your team but if you need a list to build around then this is it. Here is a look at the best possible starting 11 for this week.
GK – Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea City) vs. Hull
Even though they did manage to score two goals against Chelsea in a 3-2 loss, Hull City was held to a single goal over their previous three games. They aren’t the most dangerous offensive team on the board, which is evidenced quite well by their meager 28 goals scored this season. It’s worth noting that 17 of their 28 goals this season have come at home compared to just 11 in away games. Factor in that Fabianski already ranks fourth among all Premier League goalkeepers in fantasy points for this season and he is an obvious choice for the best starting 11.
D – Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea) vs. Stoke
Defenders tend to account for the highest fantasy point totals over the course of a season and nobody has been better or more consistent from a production standpoint than Ivanovic this season. A home date with Stoke should help him continue his tear with another big performance. Stoke has just 14 goals in 15 away games this season.
D – Seamus Coleman (Everton) vs. Southampton
Coleman has steadily improved throughout the course of the season to the point where he undoubtedly deserves a spot in a fantasy starting XI. His production has been steady all year and he is coming off a monster performance versus QPR in which he scored a beauty goal and delivered two crosses.
M – Eden Hazard (Chelsea) vs. Stoke
The Belgian playmaker has been an absolute monster this season as the Blues have relied on his creativity and vision as a primary ball handler in the middle of the field. Hazard had a goal and three crosses in Chelsea’s previous match versus Hull and should be bound for another big performance versus Stoke this weekend.
M – Santi Cazorla (Arsenal) vs. Liverpool
The Gunners will need their best players to show up for a tough test versus Liverpool and Cazorla is a central figure in the midfield that will need to have a big game. Cazorla has seemed to make an impact in every game he appears in and could have another big performance versus Liverpool.
M – Juan Mata (Manchester United) vs. Aston Villa
Mata’s two goals against Liverpool resulted in him being one of the most added midfielders in Premier League fantasy leagues across the board this week. After starting consecutive games, it’s clear he deserves the opportunity heading in to another key clash versus Aston Villa. Villa has given up a whopping 39 goals in 30 games this season.
M – Stewart Downing (West Ham United) vs. Leicester
Anybody that wants to know about Downing’s potential for this week needs only to look at his stat line from a week ago when he sent in 10 crosses in West Ham’s win over Sunderland. Downing has struggled with his overall production of late but he will have every opportunity to break out of his slump versus last-place Leicester City.
F- Harry Kane (Tottenham) vs. Burnley
Kane has undoubtedly been among the biggest surprises this season as he is tied for the Premier League lead with 19 goals. A clash with Burnley isn’t any reason to shy away from him as one of the top striker options on the board for this week’s game. Only one Premier League team has allowed more than the 49 goals Burnley has permitted this season.
Other Starters
F- Diego Costa (Chelsea) vs. Stoke
D – John Terry (Chelsea) vs. Stoke
D –Ashley Williams (Swansea City) vs. Hull
