Eliminator Round Finale
The first two races of the Eliminator Round were won by Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson and neither of them are Chase drivers so it all comes down to Sunday to see which four drivers make it to Homestead and a chance to win the championship next week. All eight Chase drivers are within 18 points of each other so anything can happen. Harvick is the favorite to win Sunday’s race which makes sense considering he has won two of the past three races at Phoenix and three of the past four.
In his 23 starts at Phoenix he has won five times. No other Chase driver has more than two wins at Phoenix. If Harvick gets the win then three other drivers will advance on points to next week’s finale in Miami and the two most likely to make it are Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin as they just need to finish 11th or better to advance to next week in Miami.
NASCAR Picks
The NASCAR betting odds on Kevin Harvick are low but how can you not like his chances of winning this race? He has been great at Phoenix in his career and he has been excellent this season on 1.5 mile tracks. We’ll go with Harvick at NASCAR odds of 3-1. If you want to take a longshot then how about Joey Logano at 10-1? Penske is having an excellent season and Logano has a really good chance to make the final four next week. His teammate, Brad Keselowski would seem to have less of a chance simply because he isn’t going to get much love from the other drivers after what he did to Jeff Gordon last week.
