Right now – Lamar Jackson is everything – as some would put it. Therefore, a colorful and decorated post to pay tribute to his play. Remember, the guy has beaten the Seahawks on the road, the Patriots, and the Texans in a matter of minutes.
On Monday, Michael Lombardi told a story on the GM Shuffle Podcast. You can listen to it here:
2018 #Ravens OC Marty Mornhinweg wanted to move Lamar Jackson to wide receiver, per Lombardi.
Mornhinweg was let go after the season, Greg Roman promoted to OC, and Lamar Jackson’s MVP case is now as strong as any — at quarterback.https://t.co/F1IGc39BqM

Anyways, Lombardi says that former Ravens coach Marty Mornhinweg wanted to move Lamar Jackson to wide receiver. Now, Mornhinweg can’t come out and deny that accusation quickly enough.
Honestly – he probably said something along those lines – truth be told. Certainly, I remember hearing those whispers from somewhere when Jackson was at Louisville. At the current time, no one will want to own up to something like that.
For instance, the former Ravens coach won’t go near that he ever said that about Jackson.
“That didn’t happen,” Mornhinweg said in a statement released by the Ravens. “Never said that.”
Surely, none of those could be coming out of Mornhinweg’s mouth because Jackson is currently the odds on favorite to win the NFL MVP award, right?

The former coach continued in saying that he saw all this coming.
“My thoughts before the draft, and even more when we started working with Lamar, was that this young man was going to be a special quarterback. Very early we saw that along with all of his throwing and escape abilities, he reads the field as well as any young quarterback I ever worked with.”
Honestly, I remember all of this with Vince Young. And the fallout there was epic. Without question, Jackson is the hot ‘flavor of the month’ quarterback in the NFL. And no, a coach who had NFL credentials on his resume shouldn’t have thought about moving Jackson to wide receiver.
Still, for every Russell Wilson there is an aforementioned Vince Young. I don’t know who Jackson is quite yet.

Finally, Jackson is +140 in the league MVP race; ahead of the rest of the field by a decent margin.
