In one of the more creative proposals Major League Baseball has seen in modern times, the Tampa Bay Rays will explore the idea of splitting their home games between the Tampa area and Montreal. How exactly that will work still seems unclear, though the idea does say the Rays would start the season in Florida before moving north for the summer, allowing cheaper outdoor ballparks to be built in both places. The Mets’ tumultuous season continued when they fired their pitching coach. News is much better for the other New York team: The Yankees are on a roll and getting Aaron Judge back this weekend.
It’s important to note that this idea is only being explored. The chances of it actually happening seem much, much lower.
If Montreal ever gets a new stadium, they would have their own baseball team without sharing the #Rays with St Pete. And if the Tampa Bay Area ever gets a new ballpark, they’re not sharing their team with Montreal. No chance of this happening, much less the players ever approving

The New York Times broke the news that the Mets had fired pitching coach Dave Eiland; the players found out later. Most weren’t happy.
Jacob deGrom spoke to Dave Eiland on the phone after he found out about the dismissal this morning. deGrom joins the chorus of #Mets pitchers completely shocked by the news.

Oh, and by the way, it’s not like the Yankees are exactly struggling without those guys.

The MRI on Rich Hill’s forearm strain did not yieldgood news: He has a strained flexor tendon, which is often a precursor to Tommy John surgery.
Rich Hill said has flexor tendon strain. He won’t pick up a ball for at least a month but remains hopeful of pitching again this season. #Dodgers
