Rousey vs Nunes UFC 207 Odds

Rousey vs Nunes UFC 207 Odds – This Friday, December 30th the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the UFC 207 PPV event headlined by the highly anticipated return of Ronda Rousey, as she returns to face Amanda Nunes.

All eyes are on Rousey, who catapulted to superstar status as the UFC’s first ever women’s champion. Rousey (12-1) lost her title to Holly Holm in November of last year in a fight that sent shock waves throughout the women’s ranks. Since then, Rousey has not fought and the title has gone from Holm to Meisha Tate and now to Amanda Nunes. None of the women who have held the belt has successfully defended it, you would have to go back to Rousey’s run of six successful title defenses to find a champion fighting and going home with the belt.

There is much speculation over Rousey’s return. She was a relative recluse for months after her brutal knock out loss to Holm, and the odds would indicate that many people think Rousey will never be the same. Certainly he persona had grown massively and she had fallen into believing her own hype, but her dominance at her peak is unparalleled in the sport, even on the men’s side. Certainly one thing that set her apart was her instinct to finish fights.

Nunes does not appear to be intimidated. Rousey’s longest fights had come in her two bouts with tough Meisha Tate, and Tate went on to defeat Holly Holm and hold the belt until Nunes took it from her. Nunes wiped out Tate faster than Rousey ever did. While Rousey was away licking her wounds, other women have been fighting and honing their games and the gap has closed. At least, that is how the bookies see it.

The men’s bantamweight title will be defended by champion Dominick Cruz as he faces undefeated Cody Garbrandt in the co-feature bout. Cruz is 22-1 and is a fighter who missed close to five years due to several knee operations., but remarkably, he has returned to the UFC and reclaimed his 135 pound title. In Garbrandt, who is 10-0, he is facing an upstart who has starched his opponents in his last three fights to earn this shot. The smack talk between the two men has been relentless, and fireworks are expected.

Former men’s bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw is looking to get back into the title picture as he faces surging John Lineker. Lineker has won six fights in a row, but he has been fighting at Flyweight and struggling to make the weight, so he is up a weight class from where he has been competing.
