RSM Classic Fantasy Lineup

The Sea Island Resort in Sea Island, Georgia will be home to this week’s RSM Classic. We crunched the numbers in an effort to find the best possible combination of star talent and sneaky sleeper value plays to create the ideal fantasy roster for this week’s DraftKings competitions. We won’t see all of the biggest names at the RSM Classic, though as Rory McIlroy is the favourite on the European Tour event of the week while guys like Jason Day and Jordan Spieth are off this week. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s PGA DraftKings fantasy tournaments.

Brandt Snedeker, $10,900

Snedeker missed the cut at Sea Island a year ago but we don’t consider that a major concern as much as motivation for him to bounce back with a better effort this time around. Snedeker has been in outstanding form since the BMW Championship with three straight top-20 finishes including a Ryder Cup win so he should have no problem contending in this year’s field. Snedeker has all of the tools to thrive in this tournament so while it was a surprise when he struggled at last year’s RSM Classic it won’t be a surprise when he contends for the outright win at this year’s renewal.

Kevin Kisner, $9,300

Kisner is available at pretty excellent value considering he dominated from start to finish at this tournament a year ago when he won with a record 22-under-par score. Kisner is a local resident that proved he knows this course inside out a year ago when he blew away his competition and at $9.3K it’s impossible to ignore his potential as one of the betting favorites to win this year’s RSM Classic.

Charles Howell, $9,200

Howell followed up a T-15^th at the Shriners Hospital for Children Open with a top-10 finish at the OHL Classic where he finished T-7^th after he shot a 66 in the final round. The Augusta, Georgia-native is off to an excellent start to the 2017 PGA Tour season and there are plenty of reasons to expect his strong start to continue this week based on his familiarity with the course and overall form. Howell has all of the tools to contend for the outright win this weekend and with some strong value picks elsewhere on the board we have the salary cap room to invest on another strong pick in the $9K range.

Hudson Swafford, $7,700

Swafford is one of those strong value plays that we intended to target from the outset and didn’t back down on after realizing that he costs close to $8K. The bottom line is that the 29-year-old has struggled with consistency despite his immense potential and yet he still has the tools to believe he can perform at a high level this week. Swafford calls St. Simons Island his home and he registered a top-15 finish here in 2014. He has made the cut in 16 straight starts and that streak should continue at Sea Island this week.

Kyle Reifers, $6,700

Reifers is available at $1K less than Swafford and yet his upside is tremendous considering he trains at Sea Island and has posted some strong results here in the past including a T-15^th back in 2012. Reifers has all of the tools to thrive in this tournament and he should be motivated playing at a home course after having his string of six straight made cuts snapped in Mexico last week.

Nick Taylor, $6,100

Our final value sleeper pick is the Canadian Taylor, who has registered a pair of top-25 finishes while making the cuts at three consecutive events to begin his final year of exemption stemming from his win at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Taylor carded a 66 in the second round of his only previous appearance at Sea Island back in 2014 and he will be motivated to keep his hot streak going in Georgia. Considering his extremely low price tag and relatively high upside, Taylor appears to be another excellent sleeper pick for this week’s DraftKings PGA tournaments.
