Every now and then, the long marathon of a baseball season tends to get emotions riled up. That’s what happened Friday night in the Bronx. Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia started yelling at Rays hitters and even admitted he was trying to hit one of them. Ultimately, he Yankees won the game in walk-off fashion. Elsewhere, Kris Bryant slammed homers in three straight innings for the Cubs, an Astros reliever is still throwing up zeroes and Twins slugger Nelson Cruz is headed to the injured list.
Sabathia was upset because he thought the Rays had thrown at a few Yankees batters the night before. These teams have a history.

The Yankees had the last laugh when they rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, the last coming on Giovanni Urshela’s walk-off single.
‘Gio Urshela’s walk-off hit caps Yankees’ three-run rally in ninth’ by @eboland11 for @Newsday: Urshela, the club’s hottest hitter of late, rocketed a 2-and-0 fastball from lefthander Jose Alvarado over the head of a leaping Kevin Kiermaier… https://t.co/kaouj5pqiH #Yankees pic.twitter.com/WA9cNMrVVH

Kris Bryant was having a pretty normal night until the seventh inning, when he homered. Then he went deep again in the eighth and AGAIN in the ninth. Not so normal.

Astros reliever Ryan Pressly has gone 39 consecutive appearances without allowing a run, a Major League record.
Shoutout to Ryan Pressly on his major league record-setting 39th consecutive scoreless appearance in last night’s #Astros win at Fenway. And if you missed his superb play to record out #3 in the 8th, check it out. It was spectacular. #TakeItBack https://t.co/DFV28qJUDA

Meanwhile, Nelson Cruz is headed to the injured list, costing the Twins a slugger in their lineup for a while.
The #MNTwins have placed Nelson Cruz on the 10-day IL and recalled Luis Arraez from Triple-A. Arraez, 22, is hitting .344 this season for the @BlueWahoosBBall and @RocRedWings https://t.co/5hs30bAMPS
