In the Billikens’ last contest, they topped the Massachusetts Minutemen, 65-62. The Billikens had a turnover percentage of 10.4 (better than their season average of 17.4) and had an offensive rebounding percentage of 38.5 (above their season average of 33.1). Saint Louis was led by Hasahn French, who was the game’s high scorer with 25 points on 9-for-14 shooting.

The Explorers fell to the VCU Rams in their last outing, 69-63. Getting to the free throw line was one of VCU’s biggest strengths. They had 34 free throw attempts, while La Salle had 20. With 11 points and seven rebounds, La Salle’s Ed Croswell had a good game.

After splitting two games last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. The Billikens won the last contest 70-62. The Billikens had a much better free throw rate (0.500 vs. 0.302) and had a better effective field goal percentage (0.398 vs. 0.341).

The ineffective offense of La Salle (309th in the country with an offensive efficiency of 97.1) will clash against the top-notch defense of Saint Louis (24th in the country with a defensive efficiency of 91.4). The Billikens should have the advantage on that side of the ball. Also, the Billikens, who rank 58th in offensive rebounding percentage (33.4 percent), will battle against the Explorers, who rank 278th in defensive rebounding percentage (69.1 percent).
