Here is your Tuesday MLB Fantasy Super Seven and sleeper with FanDuel prices as we mix some value picks along with strategic opposition choices.
P – Dan Haren – Miami
Haren opened at $7.600. The Marlins are at the Philadelphia Phillies at 6:05 p.m. ET. The Marlins and Phillies are two of the worst teams in the game so far but Haren has been one of the few bright spots for Miami. In two starts Haren has a 2.08 ERA with a 0.69 WHIP. Haren has allowed just seven hits in 13 innings of work. Haren should dominate against a Phillies team that ranks an abysmal 29th for runs scored, 27th for batting average, 29th for OPS and 28th for home runs.
C – Salvador Perez – Kansas City
Perez opened at $3,600. The Royals host the Minnesota Twins at 7:10 p.m. ET. Kansas City remains hot with 10 wins in their last 13 games and Perez is a big reason why. The Royals catcher is hitting .380 with three home runs, eight runs, and 12 RBI with an OPS of 1.005. Twins starter Tommy Milone was shelled for seven hits, three walks, and three earned runs in his last start which was against KC.
1B – Edwin Encarnacion – Toronto
Encarnacion opened at $4,000. The Blue Jays will host the Baltimore Orioles at 6:07 p.m. ET. The Blue Jays will face Baltimore starter Bud Norris who has been shelled for a 12.38 ERA with 12 hits and 11 earned runs allowed. Norris has surrendered a batting average of .353 with a WHIP of 1.88. Encarnacion has plenty of upside as he is far below his career numbers. The Blue Jays first baseman has stumbled out of the gate with a .200 batting average and an OPS of .590. Due.
2B – Dustin Pedroia – Boston
Pedroia opened at $3,200. The Red Sox are at the Tampa Bay Rays at 6:10 p.m. ET. Pedroia has been one of the more productive Red Sox with an average of .280 and an OPS of .882 with three doubles, three home runs, seven runs, and seven RBI. Pedroia has had plenty of support and protection in a lineup that ranks second in the game for runs scored.
3B – Todd Frazier – Cincinnati
Frazier opened at $3,400. The Reds are at the Milwaukee Brewers at 7:10 p.m. ET. The Reds are going up against a Milwaukee team that has been dreadful with a 2-11 record and a pitching staff that ranks 28th for ERA, 27th for WHIP, 30th for quality starts, and 31st for quality starts. Brewers starter Mike Fiers has a 5.91 ERA with 14 hits and two walks allowed in 10.2 innings of work. Frazier is hitting just .231 with an OBP Of .281 which are both far below his career numbers. Frazier should have plenty of opportunity for improvement against the Crew.
SS – Alcides Escobar – Kansas City
Escobar opened at $3,000. Kansas City is on a tear and Escobar is a big reason why. The Royals shortstop is hitting .319 with eight runs and five RBI. Escobar figures to have yet another productive night against the Twins dreadful pitching staff. Kansas City has the look of a team that gained plenty of confidence from their playoff run of last year.
OF – Adam Jones – Baltimore
Jones opened at $5,100. The Orioles are at the Toronto Blue Jays at 6:07 p.m. ET. Jones is red hot and proving why he is one of the most coveted outfielders in all of fantasy baseball. Jones is hitting .438 with a slugging percentage of .813 and an OPS of 1.294. The Orioles outfielder has 12 runs, 16 RBI, with three doubles and five home runs. With just one homer in his last five games Jones is a ticking time bomb that could explode tonight.
Sleeper – Jason Marquis – Cincinnati
The Reds starting pitcher opened at $5,500. Marquis is certainly nothing to write home about but he is going up against a Brewers team that ranks 30th for run production, 29th for batting average, 30th for OPS, 30th for home runs and 29th for stolen bases. Marquis has an ERA of 6.30 with a WHIP of 1.70 with a batting average of .293 surrendered. If ever Marquis could hold his own it’s against Milwaukee.
