Al Haymon’s “Premier Boxing Champions” airs Tuesday night on Fox Sports 1 with a card headlined by the welterweight clash between undefeated Sammy Vasquez (19-0) and Jose Lopez (25-3-1).
We last saw Vasquez on the PBC broadcast this past June when he took a wide unanimous decision over Nigeria’s Wale Omotoso (25-1). Vasquez, known as “The Who Can Mexican” is popular due to his military service and his vast amateur background, His fight with Omotoso was his debut appearance for the PBC series and the fight was a co-main event supporting the Rances Barthelemy vs Antonio DeMarco main event.
Now he is moved up to main event status in this one to face Lopez. Lopez has more experience, and at 24 years old, Lopez is five years younger than Vasquez. Lopez has won eight in a row, six of them by stoppage. Nevertheless, it is Vasquez who is the showcase fighter for the PBC and you can expect him to be favored over Vasquez when the line does pop up at the books.

Also expected to air on the Fox Sports 1 broadcast is the Super Featherweight tussle between undefeated Omar Douglas (14-0) and Braulio Santos (12-2). Douglas, who fights out of Delaware, is a 24-year-old prospect making his first PBC appearance in a very good spot. Santos is a 25 year old porspect out of Puerto Rico, but he has gone 2-2 in his last four outings. Santos has not seen action since October of 2014, where he notched a win in a four-rounder in the Dominican Republic. Look for Douglas to be a wide favorite when the fight gets a line at the sport books.
