There was some Coors Field magic in the air last night as the San Diego Padres erased a six-run deficit in the ninth inning to beat the Colorado Rockies 16-12 in extra innings. The Rockies had never blown a lead that large in the ninth inning, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, and they will look to shake that off when the teams play again today.

Hunter Renfroe was the hero for the San Diego Padres last night, smashing three home runs in San Diego’s comeback win. There were a combined 28 runs and 39 hits in last night’s game, so you got your money’s worth if you stuck around.
You know the whole "The MLB season doesn't start until Mike Trout leads the league in WAR" thing?
I asked him if he knows about it, and well …https://t.co/qYbIA9o2ux pic.twitter.com/MmabefoJ6U

Mike Trout has led MLB in WAR three times this decade, and he is leading the American League in WAR again this season. Trout has a 1.073 OPS and the Angels’ slugger looks set to lead the MLB in OPS for the third straight year. Despite his incredible numbers, the Angels have made the postseason just once with the best player in baseball on the roster.
Players to hit for the cycle as a designated hitter:
June 14, 2019 – Jake Bauers
June 13, 2019 – Shohei Ohtani
Aug. 25, 2004 – Jeff DaVanon
Aug. 14, 2003 – Travis Hafner
May 15, 1991 – Paul Molitor
June 12, 1988 – Robin Yount
Aug. 5, 1977 – John Mayberry— Ryan M. Spaeder (@theaceofspaeder) June 15, 2019
For the second straight day, someone hit for the cycle and for the second straight day that person was a designated hitter. DH’s haven’t hit for the cycle many times in baseball history, but Jake Bauers and Shohei Ohtani have added their names to the list. Bauers’ cycle was very improbable as he was hitting just .209 before the feat.
Vlad Guerrero Jr. left tonight's game with a left hand contusion. X-rays were negative. He was hit on the hand by a 96 mph fastball from Gerrit Cole in the first inning.

Sensational rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a brief scare last night as he took a fastball to the left hand. Fortunately the X-rays were negative, so Guerrero is considered day-to-day.
