Seahawks News: Tight End Will Dissly Exits With Injury

Will Dissly #88 of the Seattle Seahawks celebrates a touchdown.

Rising Seahawks star Will Dissly went down with an injury in the first half against the Cleveland Browns. The second-year tight end turned to look for the ball when his leg buckled under him and caused him to fall awkwardly on the turf. He limped off the field with help from team staffers and will not to return to the game. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that Dissly may miss a lot more than today’s game with an apparent Achilles injury.

The 23 year-old tight end was carted off the field after being examined in a tent on the sidelines.

Dissly was emerging as a major factor in Seattle’s passing game this season as he had 23 receptions for 262 yards and four touchdowns heading into Sunday’s game. He missed most of his rookie season after he tore his patella tendon in the fourth week of the season. Now a year that was shaping up to be his comeback story could be another lost one.

Recovery from Achilles injuries and subsequent surgeries usually come with a timeline of 8 to 12 month meaning the 4-1 Seattle will miss Dissly’s presence on the field for at least the rest of this season.
