Shaquille O’Neal reiterates desire to buy NBA team

Shaquille O’Neal, a four-time NBA champion and the 2000 NBA MVP, has reiterated his desire to own an NBA franchise in a coded message after denying earlier this month’s claims that he intended to purchase the Phoenix Suns.

The eight-time First Team All-NBA selection stated, “I don’t know whether I’m authorized to say. I would like to return home, but it would probably be impolite to say so. I’ll let the viewers interpret that for themselves. I wish I could return home.”

O’Neal might call any number of places home. He participated in high school basketball in San Antonio, Texas, home of the Spurs; he attended LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a city adjacent to the Pelicans of New Orleans; he signed his first professional contract in Orlando, home of the Magic; and in Los Angeles, he shared in the Lakers’ illustrious three-peat victory with Kobe Bryant.
