South Carolina kicker Parker White was both the villain and hero in overtime. After missing a potential game-winning field goal from 33 yards to start OT, the junior got a second chance and put one between the uprights to upset no. 3 Georgia.
The Gamecocks were up 17-10 with just over two minutes to go in the fourth quarter, when Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm led the Bulldogs on a game-tying drive. Neither team was able to score on their final possessions and headed to overtime.
South Carolina won the coin toss and deferred. Sophomore defensive back Israel Mukuamu stepped up and picked off Fromm for the third time, adding to his monster day on defense and giving his team the chance to win. The South Carolina offense then set up a 33-yard field goal for White, but he sent it wide right.

Not all hope was lost, however. South Carolina got the ball first in 2OT and drove it right to the goal line. A goal line stand by the Bulldogs forced the Gamecocks to turn to White once again, and he took advantage of his second chance. South Carolina went up 20-17 and Georgia had their chance on offense.
The Gamecocks defense stepped up once again forcing a three-and-out. The Bulldogs needed Rodrigo Blankenship to nail a 42-yard field goal to force 3OT, but he missed wide left and the Gamecocks pulled off the major upset.

The Gamecocks return home next week to face Florida while Georgia will look to re-group and get back on track against Kentucky.
