ALAVES vs. LAS PALMAS
3-Way: 1: Alaves +150; X: +250 Draw; 2: Las Palmas +241 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -0.5: Alaves +137; Las Palmas -141
Total +2.5: Over +112; Under -114
The Spanish La Liga Round 15 will tip-off this Friday when Alaves meets Las Palmas at Mendizorrotza, as both teams earned important three points in the previous round. Alaves has recorded their third victory of the season, beating Girona on the road, 3:2, in one of the most exciting matches of the season so far. Girona had a 2:0 lead until the 71st minute when Ibai Gomez has scored his first goal of the game. In the 87th minute, Ibai Gomez converted the penalty to level the match, while in the dying moments of the second half he completed the hat-trick for an enormous joy among Alaves’ fans. The Glorious one is now in the 19th spot of the table with nine points and a 10:24 goal difference, three points behind Deportivo La Coruna in the safe 17th spot.
On the other side, Las Palmas put an end to a nine-game string without a win, beating Betis in front of the home fans, 1:0. La UD had a great game, and they were a far better team for 90 minutes, taking 21 shot toward Betis’ goalkeeper, and having the ball on their feet for 56% of the time. They were not focused enough to score a few more, but in the end, they earned a well-deserved victory. Las Palmas is now in the 18th spot of the table with 10 points and an 11:32 goal difference. On the road, they have recorded one victory, one draw and five losses with a 5:15 goal difference.
Alaves’ new manager Abelardo Fernandez will probably miss some players as Rodrigo Ely, Carlos Vigaray, Hector Hernandez, and Victor Laguardia are all sidelined due to injuries. His colleague Paquito will be without Alen Halilovic (malleolar injury), Vitolo (muscle injury), Pedro Bigas (muscle injury), and Tana (wound). Both teams desperately need a victory in this one, and I expect to see an entertaining match with at least a goal on both sides.
MY PICK: Both Teams to Score YES (-118)
GETAFE vs. EIBAR
3-Way: 1: Getafe +118; X: +250 Draw; 2: Eibar +315 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -0.5: Getafe +110; Eibar -114
Total +3: Over +131; Under -130
Getafe made a huge upset in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga beating Valencia at home, 1:0, even Mauro Arambarri was sent off in the 25th minute of the game. The midfielder Markel Bergara scored the winning goal in the 66th minute, and it was his third goal in the last four La Liga appearances. Getafe has won three out of their last five La Liga matches, along with one draw and one defeat. They are currently sitting in the eighth spot of the table with 19 points and a 20:15 goal difference, while at home they have recorded four victories and three losses with a 13:7 goal difference.
The Gunsmiths will visit Getafe after a brilliant 3:1 victory over Espanyol at home in the previous round, and it was their third consecutive win in the Spanish La Liga. They completely outplayed Espanyol, showing their form is rising recently, and now they are laying at the 13th spot of the La Liga table with 17 points and a 16:27 goal difference. On the road, Eibar has recorded two victories and five losses with a 5:19 goal difference.
Getafe will be without Mauro Arambarri who has to serve the red card suspension, while the midfielder Gaku Shibasaki is still suffering from a foot injury. On the other side, the striker Charles will serve his red card suspension, while Fran Rico, Pedro Leon, Ivan Ramis, Yoel Rodriguez, and David Junca are all sidelined due to injuries. Both teams are in a great form and I expect to see a tight match, so I’ll go with a draw in this one.
MY PICK: Draw (+250)
REAL MADRID vs. SEVILLA
3-Way: 1: Real Madrid -233; X: +550 Draw; 2: Sevilla +889 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -1.5: Real Madrid -105; Sevilla +110
Total +4: Over +112; Under -114
Los Blancos disappointed their fans once again this season, playing a nil-nil draw with Athletic Bilbao at San Mames in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga. They couldn’t take advantage of Barcelona’s draw with Celta Vigo, and they are still eight points behind Barca. Real Madrid is currently in the fourth spot of the table with 28 points and a 25:11 goal difference. Meanwhile, Los Blancos have beaten Borussia Dortmund at home, 3:2, in the UEFA Champions League Round 6, but they’ve finished in the second spot of the Group H table.
Sevilla also managed to get through to the next round of the Champions League, despite a 1:1 draw with Maribor on the road last Wednesday. The Great of Andalusia is unbeaten for six matches in a row in all competitions, while they’ve recorded three consecutive wins in the La Liga. In the previous round, they have easily beaten Deportivo La Coruna at home, 2:0, and they are currently in the fifth spot of the La Liga table with 28 points and a 19:14 goal difference.
Zinedine Zidane is having huge problems to pick up his starting eleven for this clash, as Daniel Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, and Casemiro are all suspended, while Raphael Varane (muscular problems) and Gareth Bale (calf problems) are still doubtful. On the other side, Sevilla is still without Daniel Carrico (muscle injury) and Nicolas Pareja (osteitis pubis). Los Blancos are huge favorites in this one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I see at least one goal in their net. The total should go in over, which is my suggestion for you in this match.
MY PICK: Over 4 goals (+112)
DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA vs. LEGANES
3-Way: 1: Deportivo La Coruna +148; X: +235 Draw; 2: Leganes +242 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread 0: Deportivo La Coruna -141; Leganes +139
Total +2: Over -137; Under +134
Depor is winless for four matches in a row, recording one draw and three losses in the process. In the previous round they were easily beaten by Sevilla on the road, and it was their fourth defeat away from home this season. Depor is in the 17th spot of the table after the first 14 rounds with 12 points and a 17:27 goal difference, just two points above the relegation zone. Their defense is still one of the worst in the La Liga, and they couldn’t keep the clean sheet for six La Liga games in a row.
On the other side, Leganes put an end on a four-game losing string after they’ve hammered Villarreal in the previous round on the home soil, 3:1, even they were trailing since the 60th minute of the match. Leganes is in the seventh spot of the La Liga table with 20 points and a 12:13 goal difference, just one point behind Villarreal in the sixth spot which leads to the Europa League next season.
Depor will be without Federico Cartabia due to a yellow card suspension, while Zakaria Bakkali (calf injury) and Luisinho (hamstring injury) are both doubtful for the next game. Leganes will miss Jon Ander Serantes, Martin Mantovani, Darko Brasanac, Dimitrios Siovas, and Ezequiel Munoz due to injury problems, so both teams will play without some important players. This clash is pretty unpredictable, but I’ll go with the home side as they desperately need a positive result.
MY PICK: Deportivo La Coruna to Win (+148)
VALENCIA vs. CELTA VIGO
3-Way: 1: Valencia -125; X: +330 Draw; 2: Celta Vigo +400 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -1: Valencia +131; Celta Vigo -130
Total +3: Over -106; Under +102
One of the derby matches of the Spanish La Liga Round 15 will be played at Mestalla on Saturday evening when Valencia welcomes Celta Vigo. The Bats have suffered their first defeat of the season in the previous round when they were beaten by a ten-man Getafe on the road, 1:0. Valencia’s players created a couple of brilliant scoring chances, but they just couldn’t find the net, even they were a better team throughout the match. The Bats are still sitting at the second spot of the La Liga table with 31 points and a 33:13 goal difference, five points behind the leader Barca, and one point ahead of Atletico Madrid in the third spot.
Unlike The Bats, Celta Vigo had a tremendous game last weekend when they managed to earn a 2:2 draw against Barcelona at Camp Nou. The Sky Blues are playing in an on-off form since the start of the season, and once again, they proved the quality against one of the best teams in the world. Iago Aspas had a great match, scoring a goal in the 20th minute, and assisting to Maximiliano Gomez in the 70th minute for Celta’s second of the game. The Sky Blues are now in the 10th spot of the La Liga table with 18 points and a 26:21 goal difference.
Valencia’s manager Marcelino Garcia Toral will miss Goncalo Guedes (foot injury) and Ezequiel Garay (muscle injury), while Celta’s manager Juan Carlos Unzue will be without Sergi Gomez (shoulder injury) and Jozabed Sanchez (yellow card suspension). If the visitors manage to replicate their last weekend’s performance, we could see a magnificent clash at Mestalla this Saturday.
MY PICK: Over 3 Goals (-106)
REAL SOCIEDAD vs. MALAGA
3-Way: 1: Real Sociedad -159; X: +370 Draw; 2: Malaga +580 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -1: Real Sociedad -110; Malaga +106
Total +3: Over +125; Under -130
Real Sociedad had a 1:0 lead after the first 45 minutes against Atletico Madrid on the road in the previous round of the La Liga, but their fragile defense couldn’t withstand the pressure and they were beaten in the end, 2:1. Real Sociedad has conceded 26 goals thus far, scoring 28 in a return, and after the first 14 rounds, they are in the ninth spot of the table with 19 points. They are without a win for three La Liga games in a row, while they were beaten by Zenit in the UEFA Europa League Round 6, 3:1.
Malaga’s players will travel to Anoeta with just one thing on their mind – how to stay undefeated. Malaga played a nil-nil draw with Levante at home in the previous round of the La Liga, and the Anchovies are currently at the bottom of the table with just eight points and an 11:28 goal difference, while they have recorded seven losses in seven away matches thus far. Their chance will be Sociedad’s defense, but Malaga will have to find the way to stop the home team’s brilliant attack.
Real Sociedad’s manager Eusebio Sacristan doesn’t have serious injury problems among the squad, but Adnan Januzaj (flu) could miss the next match. Malaga’s manager Michel will miss Federico Ricca (shoulder injury), Miguel Torres (muscular problems), and Zdravko Kuzmanovic (muscle injury), while all other players are healthy and ready to go.
MY PICK: Over 3 Goals (+125)
BETIS vs. ATLETICO MADRID
3-Way: 1: Betis +450; X: +295 Draw; 2: Atletico Madrid -119 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread +0.5: Betis +125; Atletico Madrid -127
Total +2.5: Over +106; Under -109
The Big Greens had a great start of the season, but their form is descending recently, and they are without a win for five La Liga matches in a row. In the previous round, they were beaten by Las Palmas, 1:0, and it was arguably their worst performance in the previous month. Betis is currently in the 11th spot of the La Liga table with 18 points and a 23:28 goal difference, while their defense is one of the worst in the league. Betis has conceded 15 goals in the previous five games in all competitions, including a 5:3 defeat against Cadiz in the second leg of the Spanish Copa del Rey Round of 32.
On the other side, Atleti just finished their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 1:1 draw against Chelsea last Tuesday, and they will play in the UEFA Europa League in the spring. Atletico Madrid is currently in the third spot of the La Liga table with 30 points and a 23:7 goal difference, six points behind the leader Barcelona. Atleti had a lot of problems with finishing this season, but in the last five matches in all competitions, they bagged 13 goals.
Betis’ manager Quique Setien will miss some important players as Jordi Amat (red card suspension), Zouhair Feddal (leg injury), Joel Campbell (sprained ankle), Antonio Sanabria (knee injury), and Javi Garcia (muscle injury) are all unavailable for the next match. On the other side, Diego Simeone could miss Antoine Griezmann (wound), while all other players are ready to go.
MY PICK: Atletico Madrid to Win (-119)
LEVANTE vs. ATHLETIC BILBAO
3-Way: 1: Levante +257; X: +240 Draw; 2: Athletic Bilbao +140 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread +0.5: Levante -139; Athletic Bilbao +137
Total +2.5: Over +140; Under -133
In the previous five La Liga matches Levante has recorded one victory, two draws, and two losses, showing some unconvincing displays, particularly against Atletico Madrid in the 13th round when they were beaten to the bone in front of the home fans, 5:0. The Frogs are currently sitting at the 14th spot of the table with 16 points and a 14:20 goal difference, while at home they have recorded two wins, three draws, and three losses, but they are without a victory for four matches on the home soil.
The Lions will try to maintain this trend, as they will search for their first victory in seven La Liga games. Athletic Bilbao is one of the biggest upsets thus far, and they are currently in the 16th spot of the table with 14 points and a 14:18 goal difference, just four points above the relegation zone. The Lions have recorded three draws in a row, while they played a 0:0 stalemate with Real Madrid at home in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga.
The Frogs are having some serious injury problems among the squad as seven players are listed as unavailable for the next game. On the other side, The Lions will miss Iker Muniain (cruciate ligament rupture), Benat Etxebarria (knee injury), and Ander Iturraspe (hamstring injury). I expect to see a tight clash, and I believe the visitors could finally get three points here.
MY PICK: Athletic Bilbao to Win (+140)
VILLARREAL vs. BARCELONA
3-Way: 1: Villarreal +505; X: +375 Draw; 2: Barcelona -154 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread +1: Villarreal +100; Barcelona -101
Total +1: Over +100; Under -101
The Yellow Submarine is winless for three games in a row, while they suffered the second consecutive defeat in the previous round when they were beaten by Leganes on the road, 3:1. Villarreal is fighting on three fronts, and it could be the main reason for their shaky form in the last couple of weeks. After the first 14 rounds, Villarreal is in the sixth spot of the La Liga table with 21 points and a 22:18 goal difference, seven points behind Real Madrid in the fourth spot which leads to the UEFA Champions League next year.
On the other side, Barcelona is still topping the La Liga table with an 11-3-0 record and a 36:7 goal difference, five points ahead of Valencia in the second spot. Barca drew two times in the row, playing 2:2 with Celta Vigo at home, and 1:1 with Valencia on the road, while they have beaten Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League Round 6 last Tuesday. Barca’s defense is still the best in the La Liga, along with Atletico Madrid’s defense, as both teams conceded just seven goals thus far.
Villarreal’s manager Javier Calleja is having serious problems to field his best eleven, as Samu Castillejo (muscle injury), Nicola Sansone (calf injury), Denis Cheryshev (sprained ankle), and Carlos Bacca (hamstring injury) are all listed as doubtful for the next game. His colleague Ernesto Valverde will miss Rafinha (meniscus injury), Ousmane Dembele (thigh muscle rupture), Samuel Umtiti (muscle injury), and Javier Mascherano (muscle injury). With all Barca’s problems with injuries at the defensive line, this could be a game with some goals on both sides.
MY PICK: Over 3 goals (-115)
ESPANYOL vs. GIRONA
3-Way: 1: Espanyol +112; X: +252 Draw; 2: Girona +333 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -0.5: Espanyol +106; Girona -111
Total +2.5: Over +118; Under -118
The closing game of the Spanish La Liga Round 15 is set for this Monday when Espanyol hosts Girona at RCDE Stadium. Espanyol suffered the sixth defeat of the season in the previous round of the Spanish La Liga when they lost to Eibar on the road, 3:1. It was another poor display on the road, as Espanyol recorded three draws and four losses away from home this season, and only Malaga is a worse visitor in the La Liga. It was their third defeat in the previous five rounds and after the first 14 rounds, Espanyol is in the 15th spot of the table with 16 points and an 11:18 goal difference, while their attack is one of the most inefficient in the league.
Girona will face Espanyol after a shocking defeat against Alaves in the previous round when they had 2:0 lead twenty minutes before the end. It was Girona’s first defeat in the last six La Liga games, and they are currently in the 12th spot of the table with 17 points and an 18:22 goal difference. On the road, Girona is unbeaten for five matches in a row, recording two wins and three draws in the process, while they couldn’t keep the clean sheet in the last four games away from home.
Espanyol’s manager Quique Sanchez Flores will miss Sergio Sanchez (wound), Javi Lopez (muscular problems), and Sergio Garcia (muscle injury), while Girona’s manager will probably miss Pedro Alcala (ankle injury), Carles Planas (nose injury), and Marc Muniesa (malleolar injury), as all three players are listed as doubtful for the next match. Espanyol desperately needs a victory, and there is no better opportunity than this one against wounded Girona.
MY PICK: Espanyol to Win (+112)
