Over/Under?
The Knicks’ win total over/under, as BetDSI pegs it, is 30. Berman thinks gamblers should go for the under.
The reason? It’s not yet clear when Porzingis will return, and when he does return, he’ll play on a minutes restriction. Berman expects that number to max out around 25 minutes per game. Thus, he says the “smart money” is coming in on the under.

The Future
Rookie Kevin Knox gave fans hope in Summer League. Berman is confident the Kentucky product will start at small forward for New York in his first season.
He says “the fan base is buying in” to Knicks brass’ plan to “develop the kids.”
Additionally, as Chris notes, the Knicks will have two max-contract spots in the summer of 2019, allowing them to make a run at two stars. Berman says he’s heard “it’s pretty true” that Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler want to play together. He also thinks the Knicks have “a puncher’s chance” at landing Kevin Durant, as he believes Golden State may win another championship and then split up.
The Knicks see Kemba Walker, Berman says, as a fallback plan.
Rookie of the Year?
So, will Knox make a run for the top honor for rookies? Berman says he’s a pretty good bet at +700 because of the opportunity New York will give him. The Knicks, Berman explains, “don’t have a clear number 1” when Kristaps Porzingis is out, so Knox will receive big-time minutes. And “he’s shown he can score in a million ways.”
Berman also likes Memphis’ Jaren Jackson Jr., who excelled in Summer League and is pegged at +900. He does not think DeAndre Ayton is a good bet.
The episode also features discussion of Fizdale’s system and how he’ll adapt it to his new roster, Doncic’s ROY candidacy, the U.S. Open and Novak Djokovic’s chances of winning the tournament, the new-look Lakers, and more.
