The St. Louis Cardinals will head north to Wrigley Field to take on their NL Central nemesis Chicago Cubs. The matchup can be viewed across the country on ESPN and the opening pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs Odds

The Cardinals are 48-46 SU and are 46-48 against the spread (ATS). They’ve lost 9.3 units for bettors taking the moneyline and 5.3 units ATS. The Cubs, on the other hand, are 55-38 SU and 48-45 ATS. The team has gained 2.5 units for bettors taking the moneyline and 4.5 units ATS.

Cubs games have an over/under record of 43-49-1 so far in 2018. St. Louis has also been a decent under bet with a total record of 42-48-4.

Carlos Martinez will get the start for St. Louis. The right-handed Martinez is 6-5 with a 3.08 ERA and 87 strikeouts. He’s 0-0 with five strikeouts and a 5.40 ERA against Chicago this year.

The Cubs are turning to righty Kyle Hendricks (6-8, 3.92 ERA), who’s got 83 strikeouts and 31 walks to his credit as well as a 1.20 WHIP. Hendricks is 1-0 with three strikeouts and a 4.50 ERA in one start against St. Louis this year.

Second baseman Javier Baez and outfielder Albert Almora Jr. have led the charge for the Cubs’ offense this year. Baez is hitting .292/.326/.566 with 19 home runs, 72 RBIs, 61 runs and 18 stolen bases, while Almora Jr.’s line is .319/.357/.438 with four homers, 28 RBIs and 48 runs scored.

In the visiting dugout, St. Louis’ pitchers have allowed 4.3 runs per game and its starting pitchers own a 3.46 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 8.03 K/9. The bullpen has an ERA of 4.48, along with a K/9 of 8.51.
