The St. Louis Blues became the first road team to win a conference finals game this postseason with a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks last night. Robert Bortuzzo was the improbable hero for the Blues, and he gave his team an edge as they head back to St. Louis. That’s the top story today, but there’s more waiting below the break.
"It's one of the hardest backhands I've seen. We were all very impressed."

Bortuzzo had failed to score a goal in 30 previous playoff appearances prior to last night, so his wicked backhander in the second period was a stunner. Jordan Binnington was solid in net, and that was the difference for St. Louis. Vladimir Tarasenko notched an assist, but the Blues need more from him in Game 3.

Even though the Sharks ended up losing, Logan Couture made a little bit of history. Couture continued his torrid scoring streak this postseason with two goals, and he now has 100 career points.

Petr Mrazek has not had a good first two games of Carolina’s series against Boston. Mrazek has conceded 10 goals off of 52 shots, and that has Rod Brind’Amour considering a change. He has yet to make an official decision, but many expect Curtis McElhinney to get the nod in Game 3.
