The San Jose Sharks string of lucky breaks is reaching critical mass. St. Louis was left crying foul after the Sharks scored in overtime to win a wild Game 3, 5-4. The game-winning goal came as a result of an uncalled hand pass that officials were not allowed to review. It’s at least the third time the Sharks have been given a huge boost thanks to a referee’s decision.
This is the National Hockey League, we can review offside but not a hand pass in overtime of a #StanleyCupPlayoff game? Too much on the line for a game of this magnitude to end like that.

St. Louis based reporters and neutral observers were in disbelief that most things can be reviewed in the NHL nowadays, but hand passes are among the plays that can’t be reviewed. Timo Meier’s hand pass to Erik Karlsson set up San Jose’s goal in overtime, and now the Sharks are up 2-1 on the Blues in the Western Conference Finals.
