The Pac-12’s second-leading rusher, Christian McCaffrey (1,060 yards, 6 TDs), will be on display when the No. 9 Stanford Cardinal play the Colorado Buffaloes. It’s been a rough season for Colorado (4-5), and after losing four of its last five, things haven’t gotten any better. The game will begin Saturday, Nov 7 at 1:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on PACN.
Colorado fell to UCLA 35-31 last week. Patrick Carr had an outstanding performance on the ground in the loss, rushing for 100 yards and one TD on 19 carries. Devin Ross had a big game as well, totaling 101 receiving yards on nine receptions. Stanford is hoping for another victory like last week’s performance, when it won in a tight one over Washington State 30-28. Christian McCaffrey had a big game on the ground for the Cardinal, gaining 107 yards on 22 carries.
Stanford is a 16-point favorite in this game and the Over/Under (O/U) is presently unavailable.
Heading into Week 10 of the college football season, the Buffaloes are 4-5 for both Straight Up (SU) and Against The Spread (ATS). In the past five games, Colorado is 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS. The Buffaloes run the ball frequently. They rush 46 times per game, which is the 20th best in the nation. As for the Colorado defense, there are important areas to keep an eye on. The Cardinal will be matching up against a stout Colorado pass defense, which only allowed 244.4 passing yards over their last five matchups.
On the other side, the Cardinal have 7-1 SU and 6-2 ATS records this season. The Cardinal went 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS over the last five games. The Cardinal have averaged 42 PPG over the last five games, above their 36.5 PPG season average. If earlier games are any indication, the Cardinal will run the ball aggressively. They average 221.6 rushing yards per game, good enough for 17th in Division I. The Buffaloes defense seems to take a wrong turn out of the gate. The Cardinal can take an early advantage against Colorado and its average of 9.3 first-quarter points allowed. Special teams is usually an area of weakness for the Buffaloes, giving up 113.2 return yards per game.
Predictions: SU Winner – Stanford, ATS Winner – Colorado
